Taking to the stage

When we all arrive, the first place we head is backstage, and it's the first time anyone's seen Alexis for the whole day.
"Whoa, Alexis, looking good," Sapphire says.
"Thanks," Alexis replies. She then takes a look at Jackie's dress. "Oh my God Jackie that is amazing!"
Jackie just smiles and says, "Thanks Alexis."
"Hey guys, come with me for a minute," Sapphire then says. And as the other head off, it's just me and Jackie until we head upstage.
"I agree with Alexis," I say. "You, look, stunning!"
She blushes, like, mega-big, so I pull her closer to me.
"Sonic, not in front of the others," Jackie says.
But all I say is, "Let them look."
The others come back just as I'm about to kiss Jackie. "Ooh, you two having a little make-out session?" Sonia teases.
"Shut up," I say. "I was just complimenting her dress!"
"Yeah, through a big kiss and a hugging session," Manic joins in.
Oh my God, do those two EVER quit?
"Anyways, I'm gonna head on," Alexis says. "Wish me luck!"
So we all chorus, "Good luck!"

Damn, Alexis's song was total cool! The audience loved it!
But now it's our turn. Manic's, Sonia's, and mine.
Before I head on, Jackie grabs my hand and says, "You'll be great."
I smile, and kiss her cheek. "Thanks."
Then one of the people who works at this club runs towards us from nowhere. "Guys, before you head on, the special guest singer can't make it. She's fallen ill and lost her voice."
"What?" I say. "Well what do we do now?"
"We'll find someone to replace her, don't worry."
Yeah, I really hope they can.
But I'm not gonna let that get to me. I'm just gonna get out there, face the crowd, and rock out like never before!
