The New Kingdom
As we returned, the men were full of cheer and they shouted triumphantly throughout the mountain ravine. Boredom quickly overtook me and exasperated I turned to the people. "Good work! Now, we must immediately start up work again to inform the neighboring kingdoms that all is well here. We shall return back to our land and I will provide you with the necessary elements for this kingdom's success." Again the feeble-minded hooted and hollered with a new found fire in their hearts. We finished the short trip with songs of victory that grated against my ears but seemed to inspire them. When we came back the others stood anxiously awaiting our arrival. As they saw us, there eyes grew bright and they cheered. During the celebration I crept off to the platform that I had shot the king on. There was a stain of blood that defiled the already dirty wood. Carelessly I stepped on the memory and threw my hands up. "We have no time to waste, so I will declare this quickly: tomorrow will be a day of celebration but now we must continue to have cause to. Go now and ready yourselves for an early break!" Again the people cheered. Clearly, it was the only thing they could do. Slowly, i drifted threw the crowds trying to prevent getting touched. I came to the gates and the guards stepped in front of me. Rolling my eyes, I waved my hands in front of their faces which quickly relaxed and they dazedly stepped out of my way. Beyond the gates there was an extravagant garden that boasted white and red roses. I looked to the white flowers and scowled. With extended fingers I brushed the immaculate bud and inky black enveloped the flora. After the white had turned to black, I looked to the red, planning to do the same, but the red flowers grew on me. So I left them as they were and got to the massive doors. They were made of a thick oak and intricately carved with decorative patterns depicting rivers and wildlife. I put my hand to the doors and immediately the hardy oak turned to black like ash and the scene turned to snakes in grass with a fox preying on them. i opened the doors and entered a brightly lit and cheery hall full of people in rich clothes. They all turned to stare at me. Without a hesitation, I flowed through them and arrived at the throne. Dramatically, I turned slowly allowing my rich velvet cape swirl out around me. "And I assume you are my court?" I smiled a smile that could burn flesh. "Well, I have no need for you anymore. You are dismissed.""And on who's account are you making this statement?" A woman of great beauty came down the stairs. She had long golden hair and dazzling blue eyes. Her dress was the finest golden silk and she was donned with the most expensive jewels.
"And who are you to be talking like that to your new queen?" I said with no emotion in my voice.
"Well, the queen. I am Lady Penelope, queen of Reyus." Penelope said proudly.
"Reyus? That's where I am? Excellent." I said neutrally. "And former. Former queen of Reyus." Before she could respond my hands flew up and everything that had not been naturally hers melted to the floor leaving her naked. I laughed as the people behind me gasped and Queen Penelope screamed and crumpeled into a tight ball. "Give me the kingdom and I'll give you your clothes."
Through her sobs I managed to hear "No!"
"As you wish." With another flick of my hands she was standing erect and I dragged her through the crowd, down the hall, and into the arms of guards who reluctantly put her in the dungeons. "Now, as I was saying, you all are dismissed." Now they all panicked and tried to leave threw the open doors. I threw my hands forward with a laugh sending the doors shut. "You didn't think you'd get off that easy. You will all face the punishment of greed. Take off everything you have and leave it on the floor." They turned to me with terror in their eyes. "If you want me to do it that will do nicely for me but I am being lenient and giving you the option." Reluctantly they began to undress. Soon they all stood there in their worthless undergarments. "Get out." Now I let the doors creak open and they all slowly left. But what they didn't know was I had cursed them with the same curse I had placed upon the other thief. I turned and thought this was much better. My very own castle. "Maids! Clean these clothes up. I don't want a messy castle!"
