Chapter 4
SilverpawI ignored the sore scratches on the left side of my silver shoulders and kept running wildly. I could smell other cats and ignored it, following the reddish tail of the tom I'm chasing. Then we leapt through a bushy tunnel and landed infront of... Something like a camp, but different. No high rock. No dens. Just a long rock and a few little dens that could only fit three cats. Other cats stared. At me. I was different and so was they. They all had silver one side and another fur colour or pattern the other side. One cat was white one side with black stripes and the other side was silver and white stripes, I guessed he was the leader. He stood just a fox tail away from me and glared.
"What brings you here?" I realised he was young and was interested instead of annoyed.
"I was chasing one of your warriors and-" I was cut off by his sudden anger.
"And what is a warrior!?" His icy eyes turned to dark blue.
"Please, Gore, she meant me." The cat I was chasing padded forward infront of the whispering crowd.
"Isn't this a clan?" I blurted out uncontrollably curious.
"This is a tribe." Gores eyes were back to icy blue, speaking calmly.
"And we don't have warriors. We have soldiers and guards." The tom I chased gave me a friendly look and looked down, apologising for Interrupting Gore.
"Yes, thank you Rhys." Gore didn't take his eyes off me.
"Please. Join our tribe." Rhys begged quietly.
Redpaw
Tigertooth was furious.
"Don't you want to stay?" He growled.
"Of course I do!"
"Then go back to the apprentices den. You don't need to be in this situation."
"No Tigertooth!"
"Excuse me?"
Uh oh. That made him burst.
"Umm. Your not my father!"
"Check again."
That was all he said and padded off. What did he mean? 'Check again'...
"Mother, who is my father?" I asked my mother and she stopped dead.
"I cannot speak of it." She glanced over at Tigertooth. Now I know what is happening. Tigertooth was my father.
"It's Tigertooth. Isn't it?"
She looked down with sadness. Then she whispered,"I'm so sorry, Redpaw." And bounded off with Snowkit. I was left confused, when Darkpaw leapt onto my back.
"Tigertooth said to go back to our den." He nudged my head and crept off.
"Sorry."
I didn't say anything. I was too shocked to do anything.
