A Sparkle of Romance

Chapter 2

Me and Flash's' eyes widened. I got up and gave him space to sit up.

"Nononononono. It's not what I think! I just accidentally slipped and-"

"YEAH...... 'Slipped' I COMPLETELY understand! Carry on with what you two were doing, I'll be upstairs."

I thought it was obvious that he was sarcastic. I rolled my eyes at him as he went upstairs snickering. I turned to Flash still a bit scarlet.

"I'm VERY sorry about what happened earlier!"

"It's fine, it's fine! It was an accident after all!"

"Yeah! An accident. Now would you like some breakfast?"

I led him to my kitchen and served him bread and jam.

Flash

Later on that day I went to find Twighlight. She was sitting with a pile of books.

"Excuse me princess but may I ask you something?"

"Yes? What is it?"

"You need some improving with your wings. Would you like me to teach you this weekend?"

"Are you sure? Fluttershy's a bit too kind teaching me and Rainbowdash was downright hopeless. I don't think you should, you might loose your temper or something."

"It's fine! Don't you trust me? It'll be fun!"

"Okay. Fine. But for how long?"

"Just for two days over the weekend. We'll be camping, you know near Fluttershy's cottage?"

"That would be fine I guess."

"Great. Then it's settled! We'll pack tomorrow and then get going."

The next day we woke up and packed at around 6 am. And made our journey to near fluttershy's cottage. I set up two tents and a place for fire. While I did that Twighlight was stretching. I walked up to her.

"Okay princess, let's start by flying to that cloud over there! Start by flapping your wings gently"

Twighlight obeyed and did exactly what I said.

"Okay. Now you flap them a bit faster."

She flapped faster and very soon she was hovering above the ground.

"I'm doing it! I'm doing it!"

"Alright! Awesome, now lead forward and flap faster to go up."

I held her hoof in assistance. And a bit later we were on the cloud I pointed out. And lied down there for a rest.

Twighlight

A while later I heard Flash's quiet snoring. I looked up at a cloud twice the distance off the ground as the cloud we were on. Then I thought I could surprise him by reaching a cloud by myself. I started flapping away to the next cloud. I was half way up until my wings stopped flapping. My mind froze. I started to fall and so did rain and my tears. I couldn't scream.

"TWIGHLIGHT!!!!!!!"

I passed out after that scream. I knew it was my end.

I woke up in a forest, the trees blocking most of the sun's light. Flash had his right wing over most of my body.

"Twighlight...... It's really bad...."

"What's really bad?"

Flash pulled his wing off of me and revealed my wings bent with feathers missing. I stood up and walked up infront of him. It was  still raining but I couldn't see ponyville anywhere! I looked at Flash, he looked worried too.

"Flash, no need to look worried! You can just fly up in the air a show me the way to Ponyville!"

"No, that won't work. My wings are too wet for me to fly, they're too heavy."

"It's hopeless then. We'll never see anypony here in this forest."

"Maybe tomorrow the sky'll clear up and stop raining, but for now we need to find shelter."

We started walking to find someplace to stay overnight and very soon we found a small cave, found dry rocks and wood then made a fire. The sun started to set so me and Flash lied down next to (but not touching) each other
then fell asleep right after.

Flash

I woke up in the morning it was still raining and the first pony I saw (obviously) was Twighlight.

"Morning Flash!"

I stared at her. She looked beautiful with the rain drops in her hair and was smiling. My heart started beating faster. I shook my head because I was staring at her for too long and greeted her too.

"G-good morning princess!"

Then I sweared under my breath for stuttering.

"What are you doing this early in the morning?"

"We didn't have any food so I collected some oranges from a tree close by."

"Thank-"

I was cut off by my stomach rumbling.

"Good thing I got us some-"

She aswell was cut off by her stomach.

"You know what? Let's just eat"

I smiled at her and peeled the oranges.

"Hey Flash?"

"Yes?"

"Do I really have to nearly die for you to say my name?"

"Please princess, stop messing about."(but I was smiling)

A few hours later I started pouring like buckets of water were being constantly poured in the clouds. Then came thunder and lightning. So me and princess Twighlight sat in the cave, bored and cold. Then Twighlight fell asleep and started shivering so I walked up next to her, sat down and shyly put my wing around her, which made me blush a little. Soon I grew tired too and unconsciously fell asleep.

Twighlight

I woke up at around afternoon, my wings still hurt badly but I also noticed that Flash was asleep next to me with his wing around me. I turned scarlet all over not budging just in case I woke him up. Then his eyes slowly opened and saw me blushing and staring at him and he too became red in the face. And then the most embarrassing thing happened: Rainbow and Fluttershy spotted them and flew up to them with umbrellas and towels.

"Uhh... Guys? Whatcha doing? Aren't both of you being too friendly?!"

"Ummmm.... Mr. Flash? What happened? Please answer.... If you want to..."

"Well, I was teaching her to fly. She was doing great but then her wings flapped too hard and started to twist and bend then the feathers....and how did you find us?"

"Fluttershy saw you two crash into the forest."

Then we noticed we were still lying down next to each other so we stood up and I continued explaining the rest of the story.

"Well me and Fluttershy are here now so let's get back to ponyville."

They handed us towels and umbrellas then lead us back.


When me and Flash were back in my library. He took some bandages and wrapped it around my wings so that it stuck to my back.

"Hey Flash, about yesterday and my broken wings...."

"Yes?"

"Are you angry?"

"A little bit." But he looked annoyed, no, very annoyed, no, he looked really annoyed.

I felt really sorry and I knew he was annoyed about my selfishness and how I wanted to show off and how I could've died right there. Tears flowed out of my eyes and I turned to him.

"I'm really really sorry Flash! Please forgive me."

I stepped closer to him and hugged him.

"It's okay princess, I said I was only a tiny bit angry. You don't need to cry about it."

Flash

I wanted to comfort her so I hugged her back not noticing the golden-yellow eyes watching.
