The flower which never wilts
Yes Shun was not here.. On that day I told him my feelings and he rejected them, Shun went away that night and never came back! He left nothing but a letter for grandpa, a letter for Mr Blood and a gift for me. The gift was a bracelet of his mother!6 months later we received news of Shun. He died! He died in a shipwreck and the only things they sent us were Heliotropes I had given to him, he had preserved them and made a necklace for me.. He left a word behind saying: this is a flower which never wilts. Then grandpa gave me the letter Shun had left behind:
"Scarlett,
I know I hurt you a lot and I hurt myself even more as I helplessly watched you cry. Please forgive me. I know how difficult it will be for you to be married to someone else in front of me but this is not the reason I left. I left because I would not be able to hand you over to someone else but I have no choice. Our relationship is not acceptable, a butler can never be in such a relationship with his mistress but to tell you the truth I have committed this sin since long ago.. I have always been in love with you and have already condemned myself. Take care of yourself and your smile, may you be happy! I know Rann will keep you happy.
SHUN"
I only fell on my knees and wept. Tears flowed but I did not know for what reason to cry.. Should I cry for Shun who had always suffered, who had always loved me, who sacrificed everything.. Should I cry for never being able to see him again.. His death was something I would cry out my heart...
Shun... I love you...
