"Eh, what?" I asked. "You keep the balance between the worlds,. There's the "Overworld" or "Brightside", the place where all the living, such as we live, and the "Shadow World", or "Darkside", where all the nightmares that haunt this world live. These world mirror each other, and everything that happens here, has an effect on the other world. So what keeps the nightmares there, and us here? You do! you see, there are gateways, doors to the other world. sometimes people wander into them, and come out in completely different locations, sometimes on the other side of the world. You Are a person who can close the doors, as well as open them." he explained. "Sooooo, i'm a magical gatekeeper?" i asked, in a plain, boring tone. "No, look" he held out his held, gesturing to the sword i had in my hands. I handed it over, and he started examining the handle. "Ah-Ha!" He started pulling part of the handle, as if trying to break it off. "Hey! Stop that!" but before i knew it, "POP!" a small, rounded hole was in the bottom of the handle, not much bigger than the size of the tip of my index finger. "Now, hand me your pearl." "Why? What are you going to do?" "im checking something." He stood up, took the pearl, and popped it in the hole. I watched in amazement as pearl started top glow. "How do you know all this?" i asked. having a friend who knew all this stuff, and tellinmg me how to use powers. that sounded a little too convenient. I was getting suspicious, did he have something to hide? "I like to read about legends, so i know quite a bit abou-" He was interrupted by loud crash coming from the forest in the back yard. "what was that? I stuttered. "I don't know." The room was filled with the scream of Jaedon. "Jaedon!" he yelled.
i grabbed the pearl than Trevor popped back out. We ran outside to see Jaedon panicking in the arms of a tall, faceless Figure. it had long arms, one of which was wrapped tightly around Jaedon. It had on a Jet-Black suit and pale white skin,  along with a dark red tie. It was so dark it was almost black. "Let go of him!" Trevor yelled, tears in his eyes. He started running toward the suited figure. The figure simply moved to the side. Trevor missed. The figure then hit him in the back as he went crashing into a tree. He stood up, blood dripping from his mouth and nose. "What is that thing?!?" i asked, Trevor ignored me. It was clear that this man, this -thing. was not good. "Trevor, What is it?" He ignored me again, and tried ramming the figure again, only to end up on the grass, coughing up blood. i ran to his side. the figure looked at him, and appeared to speak. "Pitiful, You know you wont win, yet you fight." Trevor started to cry. "now i think i'll go" Jaedon started screaming, Trevor tried to get up, but fell back down. "Pathetic, give up now, and you live." Said the figure. i felt warmth in my pocket, it started getting more intense. the figure started to walk off "you... aren't... going... anywhere..." Trevor said. "who's going to stop me?" "I... will..." Trevor coughed. "You cant even stand on your feet" Trevor pulled me close, and whispered gibberish in my ear, but somehow i knew what he meant. "I'll fight." i said. "Really? A wimp like you?" "On my life, i will kill you if you don't let him go now!" "How? And you act as though you have someone to protect as well, hero?"  i started to walk toward him, he just stood there. i could feel myself letting go, as if my sanity was leaving this earth "Few can stand to look this long, what power are you holding?" i said nothing, i did nothing, but walk forward, the heat burning more. "Tell me who you are!" he yelled, in a deep, demonic voice.again, all i did was walk forward. The man then darted forward, attempting to strike me, his blow hit me dead-on, yet i felt no pain, nor did i budge. i then noticed i was cloaked in a shroud of light. his arm caught fire, only this was a black fire, with a purple center. "WHO ARE YOU?" the figure asked, i said nothing. i looked at him, where his eyes would normally be. i stopped right before i touched him, i was an inch away. we toward above me, about 4 feet taller. he was hunched over me. i stuck my hand out. "Silverbane" I said. I then thrust the sword through his abdomen, releasing a dark energy, and aura that was black and purple. he screamed in agony. i pulled the sword out. He fell to the ground, still clenching to Jaedon. "Now release the child." I Commanded.  My voice was different. is was deeper, scarier. it was demonic. "N-NEVER!" I thrust the sword through his back, again he roared with pain. "RELEASE HIM!" "OVER MY DEAD BODY!" "So shall it be." i then struck him once more with the sword, he started to fade. "s-stop... please..." he released Jaedon, who ran over to his brother, who was now leaning against a tree, watching in excitement as i was terrifying the creature. "You leave this world, for if i ever see you again, ill end you. You invaded my friends home, beat him within an inch of his life, attempted to steal his brother. I banish you from this world." "O-ok... I-I'll go..." He stood up, and walked into a black-Purplish portal, just on the edge on the woods, I walked up t o the portal. "I hold the key, i hold the power, the door shall close, for its final hour." the portal faded. I rushed to Trevor's' side. "What was that? I asked. "That... was a nightmare... that... was slender man..."
