Josh's POV

My name is Josh Smith. I am 30 years old. I have one leg and one arm and I'm in wheel chair. Everything changed for me 10 years ago when I ended a private army with Jackie May, but in lose of her boyfriend Craig and my sister Jess and we had help from a old friend of mine Kate. 6 months later it was a funeral for Craig and Jess I was also given an auto wheel chair. After that Kate went off and never was seen by me or anyone again, me and Jackie stayed in touch but it was only small conversation. 2 years after that Jackie said that the doctors said she had depression and we didn't speak much, there was the odd visit but not many. After that about 1 year ago now a new threat came to the world and it was the last thing I expected. They were like beast from another time. Nearly all were about 100 feet tall. We lost lots of people and we didn't stand a chance. We had to adapt we made bigger machines, better weapons and we fell back to small barricaded cities. Each city had over 1 million people in them and were safe places to be. A new army was from the H.O.T.F aka Hunters Of The Future. They made mechs that were standing at about 125 feet tall, outfitted with weapons of the pilots choice, anything from swords to guns. Then there were the troops they had things like laser harpoons and Mini guns that shoot electric. Their tech was ranged from that to base bullet weapons. They gave hope to us all and they gave us a chance to fight back. What did I do? Well if you know me I have a mechanical leg I did have two but I lost one. So what I did was...I got new ones along with a new arm. I was now ready for what was ahead of me with new mechanical legs and arm. I was back in the saddle.

I walked into the main building in my city. It was my first day after training, I was going to meet my team along with a friend of course "Hey Josh over here!" I looked over with a smile I saw Jackie stood there with her hunting armor on, she was with the new team so I walked over. "Guys this is Josh" Jackie said pointing at me. I gave a nod and then she told me who the rest were "Josh this is Harry" she pointed at a young man about 24ish.
I walked to him putting out my hand "Nice to meet Harry".
He nodded "Thank you sir" formal ain't he "I'll be watching your backs in a mech so i got it easy" he's our pilot it seems.
"This is Dave and George" Jackie said behind me looking at two guys sat on some creates.
"Morning sir we're your trappers" Dave said with a nod along with George also giving me a nod. I nodded back and looked at the last.
"And that's Sapphire but we call her Sapph" Jackie said looking at the last girl. And may I point out this girl was well built.
"Heh or "The Girl with the gun" George pointed out.
"Oh why's that?" I asked them. The answer came in a action from Sapphire who picked up a large bullet mini gun. "Ah OK so your the heavy weapon expert I presume?"
Sapphire nodded at me "Yep I'm dish it out sir" oh and cocky what's not to like about her then?
"Well it's good to know your all watching my back. I don't know much about you guys but I'm sure you know a lot about me and what I have done. But that's all in the past I'm not what I used to be so I need to know I can trust you guys to watch my back. Can I?" I turned looking at all of them even Jackie.
"Yes sir!" They all shouted out.
"Alright then now we need to move out in 5 so get suited up and ready we have a job to do"After I said that they all went off and got themselves ready. Time for to make real different. There was one question that always bugged me. What was the private army up to all those years ago? Now was no time to ask that though. I walked off myself to get my stuff ready. I was back.
