Glossary of Greek mythology
I wrote details of gods, goddesses and things you may not know and the chapter they appear in my story is inserted as number in brackets.Phorcys and Ceto - Phorcys is a god of the hidden dangers of the deep. He is a primordial sea god while his wife Ceto is a primordial sea goddess (1)
Stheno and Euryale - Stheno is the eldest of the Gorgons, Euryale is the second eldest. They are vicious female monsters with brass hands, sharp fangs and "hair" made of living venomous snakes. (1)
Athena - the goddess of wisdom, courage, inspiration, civilization, law and justice, just warfare, mathematics, strength, strategy, the arts, crafts, and skill. Daughter of Zeus. (1...)
Aphrodite - the Greek goddess of love, beauty, pleasure, and procreation. Her Roman equivalent is the goddess Venus (1)
Poseidon - god of the sea (2..)
Atlantis - kingdom of Poseidon, found under the sea. (4)
Titans - a primeval race of powerful deities, descendants of Gaia (Earth) and Uranus (Sky), that ruled during the legendary Golden Age. They were immortal giants of incredible strength. The Titans were overthrown by a race of younger gods mainly Zeus, Poseidon and Hades. (2)
Amphitrite - a sea-goddess and wife of Poseidon. (2)
Nike - a goddess who personified victory, Nike was a very close acquaintance of Athena, and is thought to have stood in Athena's outstretched hand in the statue of Athena ( she may take the form of a weapon) (5)
Perseus - a demi-god, son of Zeus and Danaë, he is Greek hero who killed the Gorgon Medusa. (7)
Pegasus - a winged horse usually pure white in color. He was sired by Poseidon and is the offspring of Medusa and Poseidon. (7)
Chrysaor - brother of the winged horse Pegasus, was often depicted as a young man, the son of Poseidon and Medusa. Chrysaor is said to have been king of Iberia (Andorra, Gibraltar, Spain, and Portugal). (7)
