chin up all your life

the bread is all scrunched up in my jumper, crumbs are falling to the ground, and I very much doubt there will be a first time thief in the cave.as it comes into sight I stop running and keep my head down, as soon as a slight glimpse of my bread everyone will laugh it's bad enough, I've been made fun out of by every single aspect of myself, and if I hadn't smashed that glass, they would've been begging for me to say 'that's ok' to their apologies, as i'm about to go in, an old man in a mystical like cloak with a gun in his hand stands loomingly by the entrance, it's tedry, more or less the only person outside my family (when they have food on the table) who actually likes me,
Tedry greats me with a smile with a faint sign of sadness in his eyes, I can tell that his wife mild, who was ill last week, was gone he says to me 'is that my brave girly NN' he calls me NN because he thinks it sounds better than no name, it makes me fell good, like I have a name, i'm equal,
'alright I guess TT, how's Mild?' I call him TT, TT and NN sounds a bit dodgy,
his face turns grey, his eye's turn pinky red, this is one of those rare occasions where he shows  any other emotion apart form happiness, I rub his back as he rubs his eyes and he says "she's gone NN, GONE!" he sobs "but I guess soon it will be my turn to die, I can't lose you to, can you promise me something?'
'anything for you'
'will you promise me to stay alive, never get caught and keep your chin up all your life, well, at least until I die, I can't lose you as well!'
I feel I should tell him about nearly getting caught today but I can't worry him so I say 'I promise all my life' I give him a reassuring hug and enter the cave.
