Chapter 6

Jamie approched the hole in the ground presumbley made by the wolf and peered down it. Three tiny cubs lay sleeping but not till the female wolf had woken them up they yawned and looked at her and then at the red meat she had in her mouth. Being woves even if they were cubs they liked nothing better than a jucy piece of meat. They had grown out of milk and the female wolf had obviously got it from the cows because his Aunt and Uncle kept cows.
Jamie then got tired not because he had got bored of watching the wolves but because when he had looked at his watch it was passed one o'clock in the morning.
After scampering up the path again he reached his bedroom and took off his dressing gown, jumped into bed...but he still couldn't get to bed it was five o'clock before he got to sleep.
Jamie had either slept a whole day and an hour or an hour. Some how he guessed it was one hour because he was dead tired. Then he opened his eyes and there was Aunt Harriet looming above him with an enormous grin on her face. "Wake up!" she said, "Wake up!"
"Five more minuets please!" replied Jamie. Then rolled over and fell asleep again.
When Aunt Harriet came to check on him again she had already done what she needed him to do. Jamie was quite upset at this because he always liked to help out. Whatever it was. So he got up, got dressed and had a shower. (It was the latest 'Power Shower!') The bathroom was en suite. But Jamie had a thought that kept coming back through out the day. Where were the wolves?
