The search for paradise

Chapter 17

"Miss Bella, if you want you may take this portable TV and go and sit in a passenger seat," Niall said, handing me a small TV not long after I had woken up. "It can connect to a signal and give you the news today."
"Oh, thanks,"  I say gratefully, taking the screen and walking to the back of the plane. I sat down and flicked through the channels. Nothing was on, so I stuck with the news.

"And first up today," the presenter beamed at the camera. "We'll be looking at Jason Byatt and his new girlfriend, just friends they say? Or are they more serious?"
I felt my heart thud. He said he'd find me again. But he hadn't. He'd gone and found a new girl to toy with.
"Jason, are you and Diana dating?" a news reporter asked, a small clip of Scade walking off, shielding himself from the microphones and cameras.
"Yes, we are, but we don't think we'll be getting to serious," was Scade's muffled reply. The clip switched to a long, tall model with blonde curly hair and a lot of make-up.
"So, Diana, will you and Jason be getting serious with your dating?"
Diana was flouncing, blowing kisses at the camera like a poser. "Well, we were thinking about it, and said we'd wait a little bit and see what happens," she smirked, shaking her glossy hair around. "And since my role in that Oscar winning version of Romeo and Juliet when I starred alongside him, we thought we'd probably give it a go."

I couldn't watch anymore. I jammed the off button and held back the building tears welling up and stinging my eyes causing the plane to go blurry. Quickly I wiped them away and went up to join Niall again.
"We're here, Miss Bella," he smiled as the plane landed.
"I want to go home."
"No! You must stand up for what you want, be strong and never forget, the good guy always wins. Or girl in your case."
I giggled. "I'm definitely going now. Thanks for everything Niall."
"It was a pleasure," Niall beamed as I stepped back and the plane started up again. I put today's news at the back of my mind and waved frantically as he took off, disappearing into the sky.  I took a breath and stepped forwards. I was in Scade's lobby. Actually, thinking about it, Scade HAD a lobby. Scade was FAMOUS. And I was in his lobby!
