Rue
“Ladies and gentlemen, I am pleased to present the victor of the Seventy-fourth Hunger games, Rue Rubie! I give you- the tribute of District 11!" I couldn't believe it, I won! Thank you Peeta, thank you Katniss, you sacrificed your lives so I could be happy and continue to live. I'm so sorry, you had to kill yourselves with the poisonous berries. Tears started forming. I should have died! Why? Why them? I was now crying. I let it all out, I couldn't hold it in. They were so kind to me! A man ran to me and hugged me, I couldn't really see him because my tears were making it blurry. The last thing I remember is that man talking to me, holding me and crying, shouting "You won! You won!"I opened my eyes. There he was, my dad. "Rue you're awake!" he happily shouted. "You won! I'm so happy!" He exclaimed. I smiled. It took me a while to realize that we were in a train "Where are we going dad? We just passed district 11!" "We're heading to district 12, to pay visit to Katniss' family." he replied. I sighed. Katniss, I'm so sorry. If only, if only, I died. As I stood up, we were arriving in district 12. "Already? That was quick!" I exclaimed. We walked out and saw a blonde woman with blue eyes waving at us. Katniss' mom! She's told me a lot about her! "Hello and welcome to district 12." She smiled at me. "Rue, you were a very brave girl and now it's all over!" She hugged me and then told us to follow her. We followed her to a small broken house. As we passed, I saw a young man, he looked almost like Katniss. He looked at me and frowned, that boy is probably Gale. "Come in, come in!" She showed us the living room and we sat and waited. She came back with small cups of tea. "I'm sorry, I don't have enough, it's very expensive here!" We nodded and sipped our tea. Delicious. "So rue, you're 12 years old, right?" I nodded. "Well, you'll be pleased to know that i have a 12 year old daughter that's the same height as you." I smiled. A girl that looked like Katniss's mother walked in. "Ah! There she is." She walked to her mother and stopped and then greeted us. "Hello, my name is Primrose." "But you can call her Prim!" Mrs. Everdeen added. She sat down and frowned at me. "Why don't you two girls go in the room and play. Mr. Rubie and I would like to talk, alone!" She showed me to her room and sat on the bed. Silence. "So, do you want to do something together?" I asked. She sighed. "I miss my sister." And then she started crying. I went by her side to comfort her. "Thanks." she said. "I'm sorry! I'm sorry she died for me." She paused. "She died for you?" I nodded. "Why would she leave me just so you can live? She would never do that!" She slapped me and ran out of the room.
