Nightfall

As the sun starts to set,I run carefully back to my cave.The sky will project those who have died today.I sit myself on a rock and wait for dark.Then the anthem starts to play and a Capitol seal appears in the sky.The music fades and then the dead tributes start to appear I stare eagerly at the sky.Girl from District 3,Boy from 4,Adam,both from 6 and 7,the boy from 8,both from 9 and the girl from district 10.I smile cheekily to myself.13 of us left.Let's see who's left.Glimmer,Marvel,Cato,Clove (no surprises there),boy from 3,girl from 4,Me,girl from 8,boy from 10,Thresh,Rue,Katniss and Peeta.Yes,I took the liberty of learning some of their names.I start to feel jumpy.We just lost 11 people in one day.This is going to be a quicky.As I settle down to eat and check out my backpack,I hear noises outside.I freeze.The air seems to drop like 20º.I shiver.And then I can hear voices."Where are we going?"Peeta whispers."To find the girl from your district.Keep moving and tell us if you see any traps set up by her."Glimmer growled back.Then,the footsteps were gone and I was all alone.The Careers are looking for Katniss?With Peeta?I've got to warn her.But how?There's a quiet rustling in a bush nearby.Maybe a squirrel!I really need some meat.I reach into my backpack and pull out a couple knives.As I raise them,a small desperate voice whispers,"Don't hurt me!"I stared at the bushes curiously.And then,the girl from District 11 emerged from the bush."I'm Rue."Rue told me.I smiled."I'm Finch.Where did you come from?"I asked her.Rue sighed."I was hiding from Careers.Are they really gonna hurt Catnip?"Rue asked me worriedly.I sighed."It's Katniss not Catnip and yeah.They are Careers."I answered.Rue sat down."Well,shouldn't we warn...Katniss?"Rue asked struggling with the word.I grinned."You're good at climbing!Go find her and warn her."I told her.Rue nodded determinedly.She started climbing up the nearest tree then stopped."If me and Katniss don't make it,Finch.I want you to win."Rue said.I nodded and moved back into my cave deciding to try to sleep.
