Reaping
15 year old,Finch Annley, sat at the window in there little rundown home in District 5.Her mother was downstairs. Her father was still sleeping.Finch picked up a small picture frame. It was a picture of her & her sister. Her sister had died two years ago in the Hunger Games. Her sister had been 14.Finch was now officially older than her sister. Her sisters name had been Dove.Finch & Dove."Finch!Time to go to the reaping."Her mother called.Finch stood up and looked at herself in the mirror. She was wearing a purple dress that reached her knees and a pendant that used to be her sisters."You look beautiful,Finch."Her mother said as she reached the bottom steps."Just like Dove?"Finch asked. Her mothers face turned cold."We don't speak of her in this house anymore."Her mother said stiffly.Finch hurried out the door, not wanting to be hit again. Her arms already had plenty of bruises. They didn't need another. As she reached the 15 year old girl section, she turned and looked for her father. He's probably sick again,Finch thought sadly. She took her spot and listened to the mayor drone on.Then, the Capitol representative stepped up."Ladies first!"She said smiling happily. She reached in and pulled out a slip of paper."Finch Annley."The woman called out.Finch froze. Then she seemed to realize she wasn't moving and she started up the steps to the stage.Finch stood next to the Capitol representative stiffly."Now the boys!"The woman said. She walked over to the opposite ball and reached in.Her hand closed around a slip of paper. She pulled it out and read."Adam Daniels?"She called out.A boy came up and stood next to her. Then they were led away to the spot where they'd say good bye to their families. When they reached the Justice Building her mum came in.She looked nervous probably thinking the same thing that happened to Dove would happen to Finch."I love you mom!"She whispered to her."I'll try my hardest to win."Finch added. But it sounded hopeless. If Dove, one of the best hunters in her District, couldn't survive...how could she?I'm not coming back she thinks as she clambers onto the train waving to her mom.
