The day we found him..
One day my little brother Max and I were out in our garden on a 'Mini Beast Hunt' (Max's idea?). Anyway, just as Max was about to poke a worm to see which end was it's face when we heard the most terrified yelp. It was a bark. It wasn't a bark. It tried to bark. Well, as soon as Max pulled back the giant branch we saw the cutest little puppy ever, we were unsure of the breed as we're not dog experts but we were sure the little dote was in trouble, the thorns of the bramble bush were stuck down deep in the poor mites leg. We forced through the thick clumps of leaf and thorns and made it to the puppy which was now crying. Every time I plucked out a tiny thorn the puppy yelped and I felt so guilty. I wasn't helping yet I was. Anyway, I carried the baba close to my chest and when we reached the kitchen, my mum opened the door."Anna! What on earth? Where did you find this?" Luckily my parents are animal lovers so my dad also agreed I could keep him, if of course we couldn't find his owner. Two weeks later. He has no owner, mum even got an ad on the telly. Nobody owns him. We took him to the vet and they put his leg in the smallest little bandage. He's got it off now and is as healthy as can be. Right now he's rolling around the fluffy rug in the bathroom, he's the strangest dog ever, did I tell you? His names bailey.
60 years later. I am 72. My little puppy Bailey died today. So did my brother. First of all Bailey jumped in the water then Max jumped in after him, he tried to save him. Well, when I say bailey was a little puppy? He wasn't. He was a great big bruiser. My friend for life. Them both. I love you guys. R.I.P max&bailey. Bailey? I promise as long as you've got my stupid amazing brother with you in heaven? You'll NEVER be a forgotten dog EVER again.
