oopsie
In the empty house I began unpacking. With a load in the washer and a load in the dryer I called my mom to let her know I was home. When she answered she was obviously driving as I could hear my youngest sister screaming in the background."Christ woman, what is going on", I asked not remembering the last time I called her mom to her face. "Rachael’s freaking out because she thinks you’re home alone. She says that it’s dangerous for you to be home if she’s not. She’s been screaming and crying for the past hour saying you’re going to get hurt." She sounded breathlessly annoyed. And to Rachael she yelled back for her to shut-up.
"That’s actually pretty weird mom, I just got home an hour ago", I said looking around the house. My sisters and I have always been a weird bunch and if a ghost was to pop out of the wall I wouldn’t have been surprised.
"Beth you're fine, Rachael just has this imaginary friend she thinks is evil. It’s probably just the medication acting weird or something. I’ll have her checked out after Christmas". Sensing that I was going to start an argument about having her placed on meds, she quickly added "but we’ll be home in a few hours so don’t worry", and with that she hung up.
