Counting

I'm counting the days
The hours
The seconds
Until I can finally see your face

I'm counting how long I've waited patiently to see you
(It seems like an eternity)

I'm counting how many days I've been in love with you
(Since the day I first met you)

I'm counting how many times I've longed to see your smile
Your eyes
Your hair
And remembered you were gone

I'm counting how many times I wished to hear your laugh
Your footsteps
Your voice
Your whispers

I'm counting how many times I've wanted to kiss you
Hug you
Hold you
And then remembered you were miles away

I'm counting how many times I've wanted to say I love you
But couldn't seem to find the words

I'm counting the number of my heartbeats until I see you
