Night Terrors, Avoxes, and Cookies

Right before I fell asleep, I was hit with one of my famous dizzy spells. When I wake up, I notice I have a touch of slobber on the corner of my lips. Embarrassed, I lift my head to wipe it off, and I realize what I was leaning my head on. I was no longer leaning against the window. I was no longer in my seat. I was in a soft bed with crisp linen sheets. I push myself up, and throw the soft blanket off of me. "Uh, hello?" I whispered. A curtain was drawn back from a rod near me.

"Hey, are you all right? You scared everybody!" Jaeze walks over to my bed, kneels down, so we are face to face.

"Why? I only fell asleep!" I'm alarmed. This is Jaeze!! He never gets overwhelmed or stressed! Why is he sounding so shocked?

"Yeah, you only fell asleep! You threw yourself to the floor, started, uh, crying, and you, kind of, waved your arms around. You looked terrified, but you were still sleeping! I- I don't know what happened! Are you okay?"

"Oh." That's what happened. I knew it happened sometimes. It is like a seizure, but it happens in my sleep when I am really stressed or scared. I'm so embarrassed! No one knew but Selinna, the Twins, and Luke! Now my whole team, and half of the Capital would know in a matter of a few days! This is really just what I need. Wonderful. Haven't even had an interview or trained yet, and I'm all ready showing the world I am weak and faulted. "It's nothing." I growl at Jaeze. I didn't mean to sound so rude, but, I don't want to die being thought of as that 'girl who freaks out in her sleep'.

"Jesus, Alex. I was just scared for you." He mumbled. He got up off of his knees and stormed out the door. I could hear a couple compartment doors open and close and knew that by the time I got up, he could be halfway across the train. I sigh, and scold myself. Now, in the arena, he probably won't even think about helping me. About being allies. Great. I get up, and my arms and back are sore. I figure my arms were stiff the whole time, and my back was aching because of how hard I hit the ground. I slowly get up, and open up a door.

The next car is full of Capital delicacies. There is a woman behind a counter full of lollipops, brownies, fruits, desserts, and candies. Adult drinks, water, fruit punch, soda, sports drinks, juice, milk, everything! I shake my head and continue. My mouth waters and I stare at a plate of chocolate chip cookies. I go up to the lady with strawberry blonde hair. "How much for one of the cookies" I ask, pointing to the plate. She just shakes her head. "What? Do you mean I can't get any? That's fine I gue-" She shakes her head even more vigorously. "Allright. Can you talk?" She looks down at the ground and shakes her head slowly side to side. "Oh, I'm sorry. Uh, how about this. Are the cookies more or less than $1 a piece?" She points her finger to her shoes. "Less... Okay, 90 cents?" No. "80?" each time I asked, she shook her head 'no' and pointed down. Finally "uh, 10 cents?" no. "Free?" She smiles and nods her head. I smile back, but on the inside I'm thinking, 'wow, that took a long time just to answer a short question. Oh well.' "So, can I have 2 chocolate chip cookies? Please, I mean?" She nods again, grabs a napkin, and places 2 cookies in it. "Thank you, uh-" She grabs another napkin and pen and writes 'Zelly, your welcome.' "Could I have some milk? Chocolate, please" she gives it to me, I thank her again, and leave.

The next car I find a long conference table. At the far end of it, I could see my mentor and Jaeze chatting. I head towards our mentor, knowing I don't want to be near Jaeze at the second. But I quickly realize that then I would have to see his face, so I quickly change course and sit next to him, so that I face our mentor. And I realize for the first time that I have no clue about anything about her, except that she is a girl with long, straight red hair.
