Why does social media exist?

To make us all feel absolutely shit about ourselves as we look at pictures of other people thinking: why can’t I be that beautiful?
And then the only way that person attained that look was through photo shop or face tune, so they look through their feed and see other people and think: why can’t I be that beautiful? It’s like an eternal cycle of making yourself feel self conscious and like you aren’t worth anything, even though you are.
