Why are the British so obsessed with tea?

Not always, it's just a stereotype.
Becides, proper tea is good

Plus, tea has caffeine, it keeps us awake.

It's just a stereotype. Not all British like tea. The same can be said with Americans and McDonald's, or Canadians and maple syrup, or Asians and rice.
