Why are Israel and the Palestinians fighting over Gaza?

Actually let me correct you Israelites are killing Gaza and Palestine so they can rule Palestine. Palestines are doing nothing because no one is helping them however Israelites are getting help from America

This war is caused by two factors. Religion, and the evil we know as the Government.
Israelites are fighting, because in the (old?) testimony, God had promised that land to be Kanaan. While I've heard that on the Palestine's side, there is a mosque with a golden "roof" buried there, where Allah had promised that it would be their land.
