I have never had this problem because I'm very social, The first thing I do when I come somewhere is find friends. But to give you advice, you should find people with simular interests to yours and if they play cool, start out by joining in the conversation. If they are normal, you can just come and say 'hi'. Also, at the first few weeks of friendship don't speak about anything personal or secret (I found that out the toughest way), but when you're sure that they're your friends See More you can start full friendship. Hope that helped!:)

Ahh.. I could talk about this for hours XD
First, when's your birthday? Or which Zodiac Sign are you?
I'm an introvert so I know what you're going through. After some time I learned that it's hard to have conversations with people if nothing interesting happens in your life. Then there's nothing to talk about.
One little comment could spark a conversation. A real life example is "I'm so tired, last night I went to sleep at 11:00. There was a song stuck in my head." Then my See More friend and I talked about how we went to bed late, then we talked about songs and music because there was a song stuck in my head.
Other examples:
- I can't wait for ____ to come out
- The science project is so hard.
Also, look up conversation starters.
Another thing you can do to get used to talking to people is start talking to them a little bit. Just a little.
- hey, I like your shirt
- are you reading ___? I love that book! (This can also start conversations)
Finally, try not to get intimated by people. Last year (or 2013) I was shy and got intimated by people.
I literally was avoiding my peers. Then, I realized, people aren't watching your every move. And there's kids in my school who do WEIRD CRAZY things and no one cares.
Switch places with the kids you're intimidated of.
Example:
~last year~
I dropped my books- oh no, everyone's looking at me... Or they will. Act casual.. Act casual..
~now~
-drops books-
Well, when other kids drop their books do I think about it? Not really. Then they must be doing the same. Not thinking about it.
