ok im not here to offend anyone ( im part of this community myself) but i think i have 2 reasons
1.(most obivous) these people dont choose to be part of this community
2. This could also be becuase, SOME people are faking it , because it's a trend.... i know there are people who are really part of this spectrum, but others think it's cool so they pretend. I also feel this way towards people who could be faking mental illness.
But since im a good person i dont assume people's life, See More just for the sake of it.

Its kinda like magnet and nails....
Magnets and nails love each other and stick together.
But some magnets can't help but stick with other magnets as well.
In other words, Some people can't help it. If they want to be that way, so be it!

@Obese_Doggo_boi Im really happy for you!! Too many people were brought up that way, and too many people continue to believe it... Fortunately media and the public are spreading the message that If you are lgbtq you are not "bad" or evil in anyway and that its completely normal for girls to like girls and boys to like boys etc. I hear a lot of people making it See More seem like being transgender or gay is a personal choice, and that is so upsetting! Once again, Im so happy that you were able to embrace yourself in spite of your upbringing :)

you dont "want" to be that way but ok

Correction: If this is who they are, so be it!
I was very ignorant about the LGBTQ+ community, mostly because I raised up as a Christian. Growing up, I was told that all LGBTQ was sin and people "choose" to be that way. During my time in high school, I realized I was apart of the community and feel more at home. I learned, with my own self experience, See More that people don't "choose to be gay" or "want" to be gay. It's all in you and the only thing that you can "choose" is embracing it or letting that fact that you are lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender bother you for the rest of your life. I chose to embrace it and to love myself because at the end of the day, this was who I was meant to be.

Now for why they're 'gay'.
I don't really know why, and I don't know anyone who knows for a 100% fact why, but apparently there's this gene or something that determines what sex/sexes/gender/genders you're attracted to. From my understanding, it doesn't care if you're born a male or a female or an intersex person, it just assigns whatever sexuality/romanticality (romantic identity?) to your brain. I think it only kicks in around puberty, and that's why a lot of the stories See More we hear about are about young teenagers (around 10-15 or so).
Personally, I'm not so sure about this. I believe in God (I don't know if I'm a Crhistian or not) and I believe He intended us to be heterosexual. But he also intended us to be sinless creatures, and that didn't work out so well, so I think something like that happened with LGBT+ people. There is homosexuality/pansexuality/others in nature. Look at clownfish: They're hermaphrodites, which basically means they change gender based on what's needed. If there are no more female clownfish in a community of clownfish, some males will become females in order for the species to survive. That's not the best example, but it's the only one I currently have.
Someone once told me this: "If you liked girls when you were five, you're gay. If you liked guys, you're not." He used liking girls because I'm a girl, so if I'd liked only girls when I was little, I'd be homosexual. Does that make sense?
Sorry for the long answer.

Part One
Well, 'LGBT' is the general term for a community of people with sexualities other than heterosexual, or they don't feel like the sex they were assigned at birth (or whenever babies get their sex) is their true gender, or they're romantically attracted to a gender/genders that aren't the opposite of their gender. Things like that. 'Gay' is really only those attracted to the opposite sex, or homosexual. There are different sexualities though, such as bisexual (attracted See More to both males and females) and pansexual, which is basically attraction to anyone based on others' personality rather than their gender. The LGBT+ community isn't always full of the best people...there's at least one girl who opens her Tumblr every day and sees things like #heterophobic which are made/used by those who consider themselves part of LGBT+. Like, she said those people are a bunch of hypocrites, as in they preach about all genders and sexualities and those things being equal but turn right around and hate on straight people for being straight. And this girl is attracted to females, so she's not just a straight white person being a jerk. People call her transphobic because she's not attracted to the male part of anatomy (you know what I mean) on a man or a transgender person.
I've never actually met anyone who does that, so don't take my word that it's true. Here's the video for reference if you want to look at it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KA7JmJOONQA

They were simply born like that. It's the exact same thing for boys being attracted to girls or girls being attracted to boys. People are born with different sexual attractions. Its not something we decide because we want to

1. LGBT doesn't mean gay. It means lesbian/gay/bisexual/transgender.
2. Because they were born that way. They can't change it, and neither can anyone else.

People are gay (homosexual) because they feel an attraction for the same gender as they are... What's so hard to understand? Or, if you're talking about the gay meaning 'lighthearted' and 'carefree' in which those would be synonyms for that kind of gay.

Why are people Gay is a very risky question to ask. Its okay to be curious though.
Why do they do that is also a very risky question. Again, its okay to be curious though.
Just make sure to watch your tone because some people may take offense to this question.
Heres my advice: Don't ask why people are gay, les, bi, or trans. Why should it matter? That shouldnt determine whether you are friends with them or not. Its simply on who they are interested in. Unless you like that certain See More person, you shouldnt worry about it. Just treat the person normally, like you treat every else.

People are gay because, well... sigh. Some gays, not all, and maybe rare, actually kind of rare, could be feminist or sexist. People are gay because they find the same gender is attracting. It also goes with your instincts that you don’t accept the fact the gays don’t produce babies. Atleast now, where scientists can make you produce babies, except it could be expensive. But the facilities are spreading fast. By 2020 your fine being gay. Being gay is an instinct that you can’t See More help.

If they are LGBT it doesn't really mean they ARE gay. It means they support it, fully, and will help them. But people are gay because.. They just are! They were born sexually attracted to their own gender, and they can't help it!
