Homeschool or Public School? Why? I'm a homeschooler. I think homeschooling is a good idea, but I wanted to know everyone else's opinions.

I think public school is the easiest way for young children to learn basic social skills. Sure they might be more focused on at home, but you would need to sign your child up for social groups for them to make friends. I became severely depressed during my time home-schooled because I was completely alone, no friends, just my parents who worked very often. You have to pay very close attention to your child's needs.

I'm homeschooled, and there's certain aspects about it that I like, but I'm also a social butterfly, so a public school would be nice in the friend context. (I've never actually BEEN to a public school, all I know is that they're super big compared to my old private school.)
Same! I love the flexibility and how quickly you can get done. But I am definitely a social person and can't stand to be alone so much.

I'd rather be homeschooled because a) you get to sort-of build your own curriculum b) you get to wear anything you want without being judged or anything (I think I'm not an expert) c) You don't need to worry about moving because your school moves with you.

Homeschool! You get to sleep in and not have to deal with drama!
Yeah and the idea that homeschoolers don't interact simply isn't true. I see friends at church on Sundays and Wednesday nights, and a homeschool group called CHEF has all kinds of meets where homeschoolers get together. Mostly on holidays, but still, since we have shorter school hours (mine are probably 2 to 3 hours), we have more time to meet each other. I see See More some of my homeschool friends at the park or the library and stuff sometimes.

Ya! And many grown ups say that if you homeschool we wont get to interact with ppl but what happens when to interact in school YOU GET IN TROUBLE!!

That's why I'm homeschooling! I went to public school in the fifth grade and it was dramadramadramadramaDRAMA! So I went back to homeschooling. Also, I fell behind academically in public school. It's easier to learn when it's one-on-one instead of one-one-twenty-or-more.
