Why do people remember nearly every lyric to lots of songs but not something like the periodic table as easy? Most young kids know every word to every song in the charts or whatever but when it comes to studying it's like 10x harder to remember anything you've learnt

It is easier to learn some lyrics that have rhythm and sound, than a lesson for school. Young kids listen a song every day, instead if they learn a lesson once they forget it very fast.

It's easier to remember words when there's also a melody. (It works the other way around, too.) It has something to do with the memories reinforcing themselves in the brain, but I'm not sure of the details.

Because songs get stuck in your head easily because normally, every part rhymes. So if you`re like what comes next? when you`re listening to a song you KNOW it normally rhymes so it makes it a lot easier

Its because of our mind set, isn't it? We like the songs that we do, therefore we memorize them. We think of the periodic table as boring, so our minds automatically try to disregard the data. This is my take on your question. It might be true, it might not.

Well I think that you remember the lyrics to songs because you hear it over and over in your head, and when the song gets stuck in your head, you sing it over and over, then you now the lyrics! The periodic table is not as easy because its science. -_- And it is not a song, so if you form it into a song, and sing it alot, and get it stuck in your head, you will be able to remember it easily!
