It can be used as a racist flag, especially when white people fuckiing wave it in front of your yard, but overall, I don't think so.

It wasn't used as a symbolism for racism until afterwards.
The flag that we think is the "confederate flag" is the battle flag.

Also, the whole civil war want because of racism. It was the south wanting to segregate- even if slavery took a role, it wasn't the main reason.
