Biologically? I'm not sure exactly how many. It's kind of more of a spectrum. But typically, people are grouped as either male, female, or somewhere in between (intersex).
Gender-wise? Nearly infinite. A gender is simply a list of traits that most societies assign to a certain sex. Most societies simply have a gender for female and for male, but many also have See More different ideas of gender for different types of intersex people. Gender is what you think of yourself and how you present yourself. You might identify with a gender of your own culture, or of a gender invented by a different culture, or with no gender at all.

I mean, I depends if you're talking about it biologically or emotionally. Biologically, there's 3 genders: Male, female, and intersex. Emotionally, there's a lot of genders.

Hmm, this might sound dumb, but I belive sex and gender are diffrent things. I belive gender, is the basic male female incudeing Trans and all the others, and whatever you refer to.

And I belive sex is your role to make a baby, or whatever you where born as and not how you feel.

I think gender should be used in non medical terms, and Sex should be used in See More medical terms (if your at the doctors or something, where they need to know wheather you have a penis or vagina)

HOWEVER, you can IDENTIFY as another gender, but cant be one.
((If youre trans, until you get a gender change surgery, you only identify as the opposite gender))

There are also agenders, but as the name says, they have no gender.

There are four. Male, female, transgender, and genderfluid. All the people that say "I IDENTIFY AS A TACO HELICOPTER" need to shut up and realize that's not a gender.
