Warrior Cats Character and Name Review
Do you have a Warriors character you want to use in an RP or a fan-ficion, but you just want to make sure they are solid? This is the place for you! I rate leaders, deputies, warriors, queens, apprentices, kits, medicine cats and elders. I am a Traditional namer and I suggest Trad. names only. Don't be too offended if my review is not to your liking, this is all just an option you may or may not choose! I will include a guide to Trad. naming in the first post.

Names: Mothkit, Mothpaw, Moththorn.
Gender: Female
Age: Tbh it ranges from story to story, so I'll keep this bit out.
Appearance: Pretty ginger she-cat with slightly darker stripes and pale green eyes. (I'd say like a 7/10.)
Rank: In most stories, she become a medicine cat due to my appreciation for medicine cats that aren't stereo typically sweet and quiet.
Personality:
She's the sharp-tongued type without really realizing it. She's blatantly honest, always stating what's on See More her mind, and calling anyone who she considers "rude" outright. She has an awkward though process, somewhat self-centered, in a way that she will say the first thing off the top of her mind. Because of her brutal honesty, she's typically trustworthy, and not a traitor of any kind. Otherwise, she's the intelligent type despite being a bit of a coward. Her intelligence is why she was chosen as a medicine apprentice. Although not strong, fast, or sneaky by any means, while she's paying attention, she has a nice understanding of emotions. However, this is usually not the case, and she can analyze situations incorrectly. Her emotions are usually extremely flexible and her personality can change slightly to drastically, although usually keeping her brutally honest demeanor, due to
Positive Traits:
+Honest
+Trustworthy
+Intelligent
+Hilarious
+Reasonable (When paying attention)
Neutral Traits (I had to look up a list of neutral traits and picked five that suited her)z:
*Sarcastic
*Casual
*Stubborn
*Contradictory (Personality-wise.)
*Absentminded
Negative Traits:
-Salty/Rude
-Cowardly
-Self-Centered
-Talkative
-Blunt
Kits: Pfft, she's aromantic
Backstory: I'm tempted to just leave this blank, since literally nothing interesting has happened other than her being sharp-tongued at her siblings and them putting up with her. There aren't really noteworthy events since I didn't really think it was necessary to add.

oof i know this is old but i'm p sure clawface was a name later given to him, like halftail, one-eye, or lostface to recognize a clawed face
on April 16, 2018
Thx, I'll change the eye colour to amber, I took the name Claw because there is a cat in the series named Clawface, thank you for the review, I'll tweak Clawstorm
on February 28, 2017
Last of all, I think you should fiddle around with Clawstar's personality. She's left bitter and hateful after being bullied by rouges, so what made her trust Clan cats enough to join them? I think you can build up on that. Also, imagine this: it's election time for, say, a class rep or something. Would you vote for a short-tempered, cold and stressed candidate? See More Would the leader of RiverClan dare appoint such a fiery cat as deputy? I think Clawstar needs some redeeming qualities! "Hates everything" can be taken out. Try and make her more positive, maybe! A cat that's been hurt a lot, angry about some things in life, but still manages to have a spirit of teamwork and great humour? Sounds like better deputy/leader material. It's just one of many options, so I'm leaving the rest to your imagination! I hope I wasn't too harsh overall.
on February 27, 2017
I can't say her looks are realistic. I understand she's a fictional character but I find natural pelt colours work better, at least in my own writing. You can't have red and black on a cat in the way you described. I will suggest two solutions. 1. Make Clawstar a black-and-red tortoiseshell or 2. Switch the red markings to white. In either case, I wouldn't recommend See More blue eyes (genetics don't tend to allow that). Copper, orange or amber eyes would be more suitable.

Dude, you have one solid character! I suggest making both his eyes amber though, realistically he wouldn't have heterochormia, and remove the one black paw, again it's quite impossible. If he's an excellent fighter you may wanna use -claw or even -fang as the suffix, -fang means he is good at both fighting and hunting. I don't get how sometimes he's serious and See More sometimes silly, maybe just make him try to be serious all the time but ending up being goofy like he really is :D Good work on the character!

(I hope he's not too OP)
Name: Duskstripe
Age: 35 moons
Gender: Tomcat
Appearance: Duskstripe is a large, dark orange cat with black tabby markings. He also has a thick-furred tail and cheek fur. His ears are somewhat small and more rounded than most cats, he has pale amber eyes, and a small scar under his left eye.
Clan: ThunderClan See More
Rank: Deputy
Personality: Duskstripe is fiercely loyal to any cat in his Clan and would do anything for his Clanmates, especially his leader and mate. Despite his loyalty, he is definitely a whirlwind on the battlefield, once going so far as to kill a cat from RiverClan in a border skirmish. That memory has haunted him forever, and he now wishes to make it up to RiverClan in any way possible.
Skills: He is an excellent fighter, as I said earlier, as well as climber, jumper, and hunter. Duskstripe seems to be the ideal Deputy for ThunderClan and eventually leader.
Siblings: Oakclaw, Juniperleaf, Thornpaw, and Adderstar.
Mate: Creampelt.
Kits: Whitekit, Shadowkit, and Streamkit.
Back story: As a kit, Duskstripe was looked up to by his denmates because of his size and strength. When he became an apprentice even the eldest warriors knew he would grow up to be great. Although he was the prodigy of ThunderClan, Duskpaw soon found a taste for battle and seemed to always be looking for fights. Eventually, when he earned his warrior name and was leading a border patrol, Duskstripe, now the deputy, picked a fight with RiverClan warrior Streamclaw, whom the ThunderClan warrior accidentally murdered.

Scratch the jumping/climbing I'd say, keep the hunting but not as his strongest side and definitely keep his fighting skill :D
on June 16, 2015
Ah. Thanks!
I figured his size would make him a slow climber/jumper. And for his name, I think his new one will be Hornetclaw.
;-; So as for his slight OPness, how about scratching the climbing, jumping, hunting, and making him a little less powerful in the strength category?

on June 14, 2015
Personality: c: yes, you may call him a little OP but not much. Excellent fighters do tend to be sheer of size, but what really makes them good at it is practice, practice, practice, the desire to learn new battle moves. However their size may not be especially helpful when climbing, and jumping isn't really such a notable skill so I say keep it to excellent See More fighter and fair hunter. Also the prodigy thing may be a little exaggerated. About him almost killing that RiverClan cat, I don't think he should be haunted by it. He sounds like he follows a strict moral code made by himself and if he believed killing him was the right way to protect his Clan even if it wasn't in the long run, he should've still thought it was best. If I'm completely wrong, sorry! All in all he's a neat character! :D
on June 14, 2015
Ah no, this is still going c:
Mind if I rate this one a little bit differently?
Name: I suppose it's meant to be a remainder of his black stripes that contrast against the rest of his ginger fur. Well, I have to inform you, such coloring on a cat is impossible, sorry! How about you change him to a dark ginger tabby with stark, outstanding stripes? As for actual See More help on the name I'd say it doesn't fit too well overall, Dusk-, you have to agree with me on this, would rather imply more of a grey or dark grey cat. If you want a name that emphasizes his darker stripes go with Tiger- or alternatives like Stoat-, Burnet- and Hornet-. Obviously his strongest side is fighting so let's make that a sure -claw.

It's a rough draft right now. I'm fixing details before I even start writing anything down in the story. Also Littleclaw is a name I've had for years. She was going to be a warrior but at the last second she decided to be a medicine cat. It's a reminder of what she was going to be. Also lavender is red not gray.
on April 28, 2015
Okay. Not going to rate her the default way because there is basically nothing much to rate. Her name doesn't suit her too well, that I can say. You never mention her to be little, and obviously a cat that is average size would not be named Little-. -claw is rather used for skilled fighters. There are loads of prefixes I could give ya, but your best shot is Lavender- See More because of the L, like in little. Suffixes can either be -fur or -pelt. As for the personality, jotting down six words isn't honestly a personality. In my previous posts you can see how I try and get people to develop their warriors. Have a looks if you wanna. Get inspired to add more to Littleclaw.

WHAT WE CAN IMPROVE ON: Strike out the loyalty. Loyalty is the first thing a kit feels towards the Clan, no need to acknowledge the basic things that builds and binds a Clan. Just a bit on her suspicion, if you combine that with her curiosity you'll have endless possibility. Always on lookout for a disturbance? Over-analyzing everything? Spying? Uncovering non-existent See More conspiracies which leads into a bit of a paranoia? You decide if you wanna develop that. Then the trustworthy and impulsive traits. Not sure about you but I wouldn't trust a cat who's bound to blurt everything out without thinking. That's what impulsiveness is about, doing without thinking, but besides that I think it fits in well with the rest of her personality. Okay, I'm finally finished this, sorry to keep you this long!
on March 22, 2015
WHAT WE HAVE: I actually like the flow of this personality. Looks like a street-smart, witty molly who can't sit still without a mystery or problem to solve, and once she's on trail there's no stoppin' this stubborn lady! Mind's locked on it, no way out of it, venturer at heart. Plus, she'll go great lengths, being the brave explorer she is. Looks like she has See More developed in several areas of skill, a jack-of-all trades I suppose? But I think we can improve on this...
on March 22, 2015
ABOUT THE NAME: Evening- is used for gray cats. Preferably darker ones but I don't mind. Her coloring here is very varied and I'm not certain if it is realistic. If you can find an image I may be of better help, if not, I'll try and fix this up. Sounds like a black silver tabby to me, but not entirely. The white markings would have to be removed, and instead See More of being 'gray with silver' she'd have to be just silver with only black or dark gray stripes [not both].
Not sure on the bright green eyes either, I'd use yellow or amber. Anyway, Evening- is quite suitable here, let's not be too strict, but Silver-, Minnow- and Birch- may be more specific here. My apologies for the rant. Moving on! -claw is a suffix for outstanding fighters but it looks as if this warrior is very skilled at BOTH fighting AND hunting. In this case -fang is used. After all, it is an excellent tool for combat and necessary to kill prey.

Name: Burnwhisker
Age: 19 moons
Gender: Shecat
Clan: WindClan
Rank: Warrior
Appearance: She has dark red fur, large paws, and long whiskers (hence her name '-whisker'), she is also very thin and smaller than average
Personality: She is very loyal to her Clan, she's also very energetic and always ready to help her Clan. Her energetic nature hides her strength and ferocity in battle which may result from being overprotective of her Clan and littermates l See More
Skills: She is not only a skilled hunter, but she is also a very swift runner. She is known for leading dogs and foxes away from her camp and she's very sneaky, despite her large paws.
Siblings: Crystalpaw, Skywhisker, Scarletstorm
Back story: Born in WindClan, Burnkit always had an urge to run. Her huge paws, however caused her to be the laughingstock of her Clan. When she became an apprentice, her mentor taught her how to place her paws softly and soon she was the best hunter in the Clan. At 14 moons she was offered a position as deputy but to the shock of her Clan, she refused, explaining that she was much too young and still had much to learn.

WHAT WE HAVE ;; Loyalty is the first thing a kit should feel towards its Clan. You have no real need to put it down, I think. And why should her energy hide her ferocity in battle? I think it should betray it, an energetic cat is bound to be one big, clawing and biting whirlwind on a battlefield! :D
WHAT WE CAN IMPROVE ON ;; She obviously cares for her Clan very See More much, even turning down the chance of deputyship because she might put the Clan in jeopardy with her lack of experience. That. Is brilliant. I think you should flesh her out a bit, maybe try to explain her feelings towards the Clan. Is she a devoted worker? Or a diligent cat? Or maybe playful and a bit forgetful because she easily gets distracted with her energy? Or a great tactician, and very level-headed? Does she regret not being deputy sometimes, is she always looking for mistakes in the Clan running system, making sure everything is going smoothly? These are some starting points for you.

ABOUT THE NAME ;; I have a few things to talk about when it comes to the suffix, but her name is a bit...mean. Would a queen really look at her kit and say 'Ah well, she obviously looks like a fire swept over her so let's name her Burnkit!'? Or would a queen say 'Ahh! My eyes! It burns!'? Chances are low. Then there is -whisker. Funnily enough, it describes a See More good hunter, which she is, but her whiskers themselves are not enough to be named for. Nor are sharp teeth, a stumpy tail, etc.
NAME SUGGESTION ;; Her suffix may be Small- or Little- if you opt for size, and Red-, Fox-, Russet-, Rowan-, Cypress-, Fire- and/or Stoat- if you opt for colour. A name that describes both is Ant-, and don't start with me 'cause ant can be red too. My warriorsona is actually a red cat with the name Ant-. But that's up to you, really. Keep the suffix if you wish but if she is even faster than the average WindClan cat, -foot could work too!

WHAT WE HAVE ;; Somewhat icy, but very strong in battle. Hm. Okay.
WHAT WE CAN IMPROVE ON ;; Character development. I love a long, juicy personality, I may even give examples later. Anyway, what makes her a bit icy? See More Or some sort of natural protectiveness towards her Clan? Is that why she undertook the journey? Flesh her out and she'll be just fine ! :D

Appearance: Sleek long-furred silver she-cat with blue eyes. She has a long scar on her belly and a notch in her left ear.
Personality: Brave, loyal and understanding, but if you mention her brother she will get very angry and resort to sarcasm. In battle she is fierce and very dangerous.
Skills: She is fast, even for a WindClan warrior and can also jump extremely high.
Siblings: Fox ( An extremely dangerous evil rouge) See More
Backstory: Icekit and her brother, Fox were brought up in WindClan. They both became very well respected warriors. But then Fox realised that Icestorm had a good chance of becoming deputy. But instead of killing her, Fix tried to kill Swiftstar because he thought that Icestorm would then make her brother deputy. But Icestorm found out and saved Swiftstar and chased out her brother.

Thanks. By the way though, in Cloudstar's journey, there is a cat named Icewisker who is silver.

WHAT WE HAVE; Loyalty is not really a trait that should be mentioned, loyalty is the first thing a kit should feel towards its Clan. Other than that she is a brave and understanding cat, both are good traits for a deputy. The she gets all don't-you-dare-mention-that about her bro. If I can also mention, her history is a bit stereotyped and Fox is that cliched See More villain who is evil for no real reason. You may want to flesh both characters out, especially Icestorm because she may become a very interesting cat.
WHAT WE CAN IMPROVE ON; Character development. Is Icestorm responsible? Easily bored/amused? Quiet? Impulsive? If she is fierce in battle you might make her mistrustful, wary, observant, a bit jumpy, overanalysing everything, being a very diligent worker, protective of her Clan, etc. Flesh her out a little, and she'll be a very smooth kitty!

ABOUT THE NAME; Icestorm, correct? Ice- would imply a regular white cat, so if you want to keep it make her white. Her suffix is a bit shady. -storm implies a cat who has a personality marked by many ups and downs. If she has brighter days, when she is that brave, responsible deputy, and lower days when she's touchy and sarcastic, it's fine. If her moods don't See More swing that way, -storm is not recommended here.
NAME SUGGESTION; For silver cats, I suggest mainly Silver-, Minnow- and Birch-. If she is truly an excellent runner, I say -foot is the perfect choice!

Yes, Frecklewish is canon. Acorn- is ideal for lighter brown cats tough. Anyway, if you want a loveable grump, I suggest you make her grumpy most of the time, with a softer spot ever now and then, trying to look tough and serious but secretly being warm and friendly. Maybe she's still a bit mistrustful? Or maybe she was nice at first but grew cranky with age? See More Just some ideas for you, thanks for sending your cat in!

Trust me, I have had a LOT of people get to me about the name :P I just looked on WCWikia and saw the first prefix (Acorn) and last suffix (wish). Voila! I'm going more along the Yellowfang route for medicine cat personality, she's kinda like Yellowfang but more... Gentle? I don't really know... She was my first OC so... Yeah. Thanks for the review!

WHAT WE HAVE; This cat has a three-word personality. That is very little, the personality should be the thing you write about most while creating a cat! Anyway, if she is impatient, why should she be so trustworthy? How do you know she's isn't gonna get frustrated or bored or something? If she is kind, why is she impatient? Shouldn't kind cat be understanding See More and, well, patient?
WHAT WE CAN I PROVE ON; You have two options that I see. Make her unique, and keep the impatience. Form there you can flesh her out into a cat who constantly shifts, wants something to do, is a little hyper-active, gets bored easily, doesn't like handling kits, is impulsive and jumps into conclusion, etc. If you want yo keep her kindness and trustworthiness, that calls for a slightly more stereotyped medicine cat, but you can work your way up from there.

Welcome to the show! Let's get this party started, and remember, don't be too miffed!
ABOUT THE NAME; She is genuinely a dark brown tabby. Acorn- would be more suitable for light brown/golden cats. -wish is a bit unusual and not recommended. It does not really say anything about the cats, maybe except that they...have a wish or are optimistic! It's vague and See More shaky, basically.
NAME SUGGESTION; Her prefix may be anything of the following: Adder-, Bat-,
Beetle-, Bramble-, Briar-, Cedar-, Dark-, Dusk-, Ivy-, Kestrel-, Lizard-, Otter-, Sparrow- and Vole-. She has no specific talent so I suggest simply -fur or -pelt for her suffix.

HOW TRADITIONAL NAMING WORKS-SUFFIXES
A suffix may describe a cat's skill [-claw for skilled fighter, -foot for a fast runner, -tail for a swift cat or good climber, -whisker for hunters, -nose for trackers, -leaf for VERY skilled medicine cats, -fang for a good hunter AND fighter, -flower for good, caring mothers and -stream for swimmers.]
A suffix may describe a cat's personality [-heart fir outspoken cats who will always believe that what they do is right, -cloud for patient, See More mellow and slightly lax cats, and -storm for cats who have moody, low days, and dynamic, high days.]
Finally, a suffix may describe a cat's look [fur/pelt, -stripe for tabbies, -face for very attractive cats, -jaw for deformed jaw, rename only, -ear for torn/deformed ear, rename only, and -eye, again, rename only.]
There is also a unique suffix, -step. It can only be paired with an animal prefix, eg. Badgerstep. Badgerstep will step like a badger, Crowstep will be sly, clever and stel like a crow, Foxstep will be crafty and step like a fox. I think you get it.

HOW TRADITIONAL NAMING WORKS-PREFIXES
The prefix describes the cat.
It mainly describes the colour of the cat, but on some occasions, size.
The name has to be quite specific, you won't find a Finch-, but you may find a Brambling-.
The names cannot be vague.
Tree-, Bird- and Flower- aren't okay.
Elm-, Sparrow- and Dandelion- are fine. See More
The names are location-specific. The Clans live in England, you won't find cougars or wolves there.
However, there are many prefixes you may use.
