Population: Me. Xafrin is a D&D campaign that was conducted through tiktok and discord with a large group of players. In this campaign, a group of citizens from the Valelands are called by the queen to sacrifice their lives in pursuit of a cure for a curse spreading across the land. This cure is rumored to be found in the lost city of Xafrin. Many others have been sent by the queen to search for this city before our heros, but none have returned.

I was looking back at art other Xafrin peeps did and there's so many pieces I forgot. Also, how did I never realize Nevene and Arthara were so close???? Now that I've noticed it seems so obvious like yeah, of course, Nevene and Arthara, the iconic duo!

THinking about the unique relationship between Aphy and Jacob, how the two of them feel like they've known each other their whole lives, yet only met on the mission. How Jacob hasn't been alive for the VAST majority of Aphy's lifetime, yet feels like he watched her grow up. How in an instant she changed from a dangerous stranger to a sister.
They're relationship is unnatural to a disturbing degree, yet neither would abandon it because that's their brother/sister now, and leaving See More them behind would be too painful.

Not to mention the fact that Aphy now has a lot of the knowledge Jacob does. Jacob studied 10 years to become a blacksmith? Aphy has now sat in on all his lessons and could probably tell you the benefits of different ways to temper steel. Jacob spent several years working with the Black Market? Aphy now knows all the codes and tricks.

I completely forgot that Aphy can canonically see people's souls due to her connection with the World Tree. Now all I can think of is after Jacob inevitably dies of old age, she sees his spirit walking around and its very bittersweet I'm sure

How far removed does someone have to be before you stop counting them as an aunt/uncle..? Like, Dympna's mother is Salaniea. Salaniea has a sister, Aphy, so Aphy is Dympna's aunt. Aphy has a partner, Cosima, so Cosima is Dympna's aunt. Cosima has a brother, Damien, so is Damien Dympna's uncle? Or does it stop at Cosima? Hmmmm

Just, as a concept, I love the idea of an old party of heros who once saved the world, but then split off to go live their lives and mostly fell out of contact, having to reunite many years in the future to work together once more to face another threat (or perhaps a resurgence of the old threat). Something about the regret, the lingering threads of comradery, the conflit of some of them just wanting to move on while others missed this team with all their heart, the clash of meeting See More someone again and seeing how much they've changed, of knowing things will never be like how they were before. IDK.
Maybe if Mila ever goes through with the revolution, she can seek out and recruit some of the other Chosen. Considering she got thrown in jail shortly after the advneture, I'm sure most of the others haven't had much contact with her. Maybe there's some other threat, and it forces Jacob and Veryl to reconnect, but also Veryl sees how much older Jacob is, being human, and is reminded of just how shorter his lifespan is and mourns all the time they were distant. There's a certain bittersweetness to it all.

I did a proper count of all the characters people entered into Xafrindnd and it's pretty close to 80, way more than I thought. About half of those weren't active and barely did anything, hence them being overlooked or forgotten, but still, dang.
