It's amazing how certain ecosystems have evolved to work with/around fire. Like, the pine sandhills may catch on fire, and it will signal to Pinus palustris to drop their seeds. But the fires typically don't spread far because the scrub full of palmetto don't catch on fire very easily.
You can visibly see which areas are more prone to fires simply based on how many pine trees vs oak trees there are present. The pine trees are more dominant in the areas that catch on fire, while See More large oak trees are mostly found amongst the scrub where they won't burn down.
