Backstory: Her mom is a...(I'm not saying) and so is her sister. Her mom wanted her to become one too, then Leah went mad. She was weird to begin with anyway.

Job: Guard and protector and training to be a nurse
Family: None of importance
Backstory: He started working at the Asylum because he thought he would be most useful there.
Extra: He is rough with the kids and he doesn't care if he hurts them or scares them because he thinks it's disciplining them. He actually does grow attached to the kids and generally cares for them he just doesn't know how to scold them without violence.

This is so frustrating! I was finally getting somewhere...
Derick: Or were you?
*turning, the boy looked straight at where Rideck was*
*his voice was much lower and deeper than before* See More
*smiling at Rideck, he started to laugh evilly*
Rideck: It was you! That girl brought you here!
*trying to grasp what was happening*
*seeing his smile*
She didn't know...did she?
Derick: *glaring now*
Of course she didn't know, you pathetic former excuse for a human!
But now I am in control, and Derick is going to go on a ride he won't soon forget.

Disorder: He doesn't have one officially but he often feels crazy just working in the asylum
Job: Doctor and psychiatrist
Family: His wife and son but both are dead
Backstory: He was originally practicing to become a pediatrician. He got married at 32 to Liz Jankins. They had a son, Phillipe, and were happily married for 5 years. Philipe wsa diagnosed with Leukemia. He was going to die soon. Liz came down with chronic depression and developed See More an unknown disorder that ended up making her slaughter Philipe and then kill herself. Leroy was crushed but instead of doing anything dumb he put his anger to good use and studied disorders which eventually landed him a job in the Hansfield Asylum. Now he works as one of the main doctors.
Extra: He is like a father to many of the younger kids and loves children.

Disorder: Cotard's Syndrome
Job: Patient
Family: His sister, Jenna Thompson, who comes to see him often.
Backstory: In his youth, he was constantly bullied, more physically than mentally. His sister would try to stand up for him, only to be attacked herself. One time this occured, Derick snapped and attacked the other boys, drawing a knife. Killing one of them, he was beaten into submission, brutally. His head being smashed off of the concrete, he See More blacked out. To this day, he believes he is dead, and has forgotten who he is. He has forgotten his sister too, although he gets a warm feeling every time she comes around.
Extra: Cotard's syndrome is a disorder that causes the person to believe that he/she is dead, or watching themselves almost like a movie. Even looking in the mirror, they don't know who they are, and can't connect to themselves emotionally, making it hard for them to connect to others. I'm adding this too, but he cannot feel pain, adding to the disorder's effects that he is dead/not who he sees in the mirror.

Job: Student, specializing in psychological therapy.
Family: Derick, her brother.
Backstory: Ever since her brother's admittance to the asylum, she has dedicated her life to curing her brother, and bringing him home. Ignoring her parents pleas to leave her brother where he couldn't harm anyone or himself, she continues to visit him, hoping one day to find something that will spark a memory, and cause the real Derick to resurface.
Extra: Visits the asylum each day after her classes, continually trying new things, from reenacting scenes from their childhood, to bringing certain toys/items with her that he played with as a kid, to reading or singing to him. She has become close to the staff and some of the other patients.

Roseheart, we don't need to be following each other to RP...If we're both on this page (members/subscribers/etc) we should be able to RP just fine. I'm just waiting for a better moment to introduce my other character. I don't normally follow people, unless I befriend them first. Just my style, nothing personal. Look forward to seeing this page grow though!! :D

Derick has again showed no signs of recovering...
He is still talking to himself as if he were someone else, and staring at the wall with a blank expression.
Commonly used phrases include: See More
Why isn't the boy doing anything? Who is this girl that comes to see him? Why can't I find peace?
Analysis: He seems to believe that he is someone else, possibly watching the meetings I have with him?
Solution Attempts: I tried reenacting a scene today with him, back in grade school, when we went on vacation...
Unfortunately, I got no response from him whatsoever...
Tomorrow's Attempt: I've tried everything, and I really didn't want to do this, but it seems as though
I may have to reenact the night that we both got attacked...it may be traumatizing for him though....
And I didn't want to risk this, but there isn't anything else left to try...

Disorder: DID (Dissociative Identity Disorder)
Job: Patient
Family: He barely even remembers his true parents because his mother died long ago and his father is in prison. The only person that ever visits him is his sister Bethany, but her visits are becoming less frequent as her own family grows and she starts to lose hope.
Backstory: He was horribly mentally and physically abused as a child. Growing up his mother was a drug addict and his father See More was a gang member. Tim was a mistake, and that's what he was constantly called. Nothing but a mistake that would never amount to anything. He didn't have friends as a kid, he was considered the wrong person to be friends with due to his parents. Having no friends he started creating his own. It started out as a harmless imaginary friend, but as he grew older, his friends became much more complex, soon enough they weren't just friends, they were a part of him. Now, his "friends" seemingly take over without him realizing it. It could be triggered, or just randomly. He upholds conversations with himself, but to him it seems like his friends are really talking with him and the others.
Extra: He was born addicted to drugs. He has several friends, some more complex than others. There is his first friend, James. James is the one that talks to him the most. James often tries to convince Tim that he is only imaginary and is always trying to help him because he wants Tim to get out of this horrible place. His second friend is Felipe. Felipe is his obsessive compulsive side. Everything MUST be perfect or he suffers a mental breakdown. Felipe is always talking to Tim, telling him that something is out of place or commanding him to clean up his cell. His third is Jeremy, his evil side. Jeremy is constantly telling Tim to do things he shouldn't, such as stealing. Then there is his fourth and last, John. John is his mysterious and unknown side. Not even Tim himself knows very much about this side of him.

Family: Her parents but they refuse to take her back
Backstory: Jane started hallucinating at 5 and hearing the voices in her head at 7. She went full blown schizophrenic with two other personalities and horrible hallucinations and voices. She nearly killed herself at 10 and that's when her parents lost it and dropped her off at the asylum and never returned.
Extra: As Jane, she is very See More nice and kind and sweet. As Mary, she is violent and mean and stubborn. As Luke, she is smart and opinionated and cunning.
