Russian Roulette
There are two left. They sit there. Black. Gleaming. It's Grace's turn. She reaches a shaking hand and picks up the one to my left. I know that there's a fifty fifty chance her life will end right in front of me. You'd think after six turns each my nerves couldn't get any tighter. You'd be wrong.
"I'm scared Juliette." She sobs. "I don't want to do this anymore."
I glare at the man beside us. He's smiling. I hate him. Big sisters supposed to always be there See More for their little sisters, but there's nothing I can do.
"I can't do it. I can't!" She drops the gun and jumps from her seat but the man's rights there. "Sit down and take your turn." He growls. The smile is gone now. She is crying, her eyes clinging at mine. Begging me to help her. Begging for escape. A lump grows in my throat. I feel so useless! I can't bear it. I jump up.
"I'll take her turn." I say. "You said we only have to play until one's left. If I take this turn, no matter what, she walks away."
He likes this, and gestures for me to sit.
I fall into my seat. Two guns. One has a bullet in it, one doesn't. I choose the one on my left, the same one Grace picked. The metal is cold, unyielding. I'm having second thoughts, what if I'm leaving Grace without anyone to care for her? What's to stop the man killing her once I die? No. I might not die. And he gave his word.
"Gracie hon. I love you. You know that, don't you?" I smile. "When this is over, go to the farm house. You'll be safe there." I feverently hope it's true.
"You'll come with me won't you?"
"Yeah." My voice cracks at the lie.
"Enough of this," the man grunts, annoyed.
"Gracie? Do me one last favour." I lift the gun to my temple and click off the safety.
"Close your eyes."

Background info: There are a few versions of Russian Roulette but basically is a stupid 'game' in which there are a number of guns, one of which is loaded, but no one knows which one. Players take turns to choose a gun and shoot themselves in the head. You can play until a certain number of guns are left or until someone dies. Less severe/deadly/stupid versions See More include lemonade roulette (one can has been shaken & you have to open it right in front of your face) and wassabi roulette (one edible is stuffed with wasabi).

When Options Run Out
Lola and Dena sat on a log and sighed. They didn't find Jane yet. I few months ago, Jane had gone missing. Lola suspected it was Mavis's doing. Mavis was the spirit living in Dena's bracelet. Some people would call her a djinni, but Dena calls her a spirit. Suddenly Mavis shot out of the bracelet and pointed toward the mountains. "She's there!" she cried. "I can feel it!" Dena stood up. "That's awesome, Mavis!" she said. She turned to Lola, let's go find Jane!" See More Lola frowned, but didn't say anything. They ran toward the mountains. It was a long trip, but when they finally arrived, it was dark. The trees cast a menacing shadow on the ground. They looked around. "Jane!?" Lola called out. Dena looked at Mavis. "Would you go look around?" Mavis nodded and zoomed away. Dena looked at Lola. "We'll see Jane soon. I just know it." Lola shook her head and rested on the log. "I don't know...I don't trust Mavis." and she fell asleep.
They waited a long time for Mavis to return. When she didn't they got suspicious. They creeped out to look for her, when Lola spotted a door in the rock. "Let's check this out." she said. She pushed it open and screamed. She was face-to-face with the most terrifying red eyes she'd ever seen. The eyes glowed viciously and a growly voice spoke, "I am the girl you once called Jane."
That's my story.

I took a deep breath and jumped. A ground rocketed towards me at incredible speed, the greens and blues swirling together in an endless vortex. The wind pushed agaisnt me, pulling at my clothes, my hair, trying to whisk everything away from me and leave me helpless, falling... I stepped through the doorway and saw the grave faces of my friends. I should of known the moment I saw Leah's face without a smile, but my mind was blank. "The Ceremony chose him." Rina whispered, a single tear shed. I tried to breathe, but I couldn't. I felt like my chest collapsed in on itself. He was gone... could I even save him now?
