For a couple of words.

I had to learn Italian from my mother ( She learns English I learn Italian) I learned to speak italian from listening to her. Im still learning how to write Italian. I think I'm doing exceptionally well but for the sake of this conversation I'm switching to english. I know it sounds odd.
