A loud crashing noise woke you up. It was dark out now. Another crash. It sounded like it was inside the house. You stood up and walked toward the hallway. You could see a dark blue glow shining from underneath Sonic's door. Slowly, you walked to the bedroom door and knocked. You swore you heard growling. As soon as you stepped into the room, darkness enveloped you. Sonic was huddled up in bed, his fur a dark blue hue. You slowly walked over. Reaching out a shaky hand, you touched his shoulder. He was extremely tense, and writhing like he was in pain. You remember him telling you that he had night terrors. He groaned and mumbled incoherently. You sat on the edge of the bed and began rubbing his back in a circular motion. You made little shushing noises to try and calm him. You looked around. Some items swirled around in the air, others fell to the floor as if gravity itself decided to rip them from their shelves. You heard Sonic mumble. You leaned even closer and rubbed his arm, gently rocking him to try and wake him up without frightening him. You started to feel the darkness in the room thin out. The floating items started dropping one by one. His body stopped shaking as much. His fur faded back to his usual blue. “___?” He whispered your name and lifted his head up, blinking and trying to focus his vision. You waved a little, showing him that it was you. He seemed incredibly relieved. He laid there, panting lightly, sweat seeping from his fur. "I'm sorry.” He finally coughed out. “I guess I owe you...an explanation.” You shook your head. You don't have to say anything. He smiled and laughed. “You continue to surprise me.” Are you ok, though? He nodded, still breathless. You reached up and, with the sleeve of your shirt, wiped the sweat from his brow, he seemed to hold his breath for a split second. Did you want me to stay? "You don't have to.” That's not what I asked. He laughed weakly at your sass before falling back into exhaustion. He nodded.

While you and Sapphire were talking, Hotaru ran to where Shadow was sitting in the living room.
“What do you want?” Shadow ordered. Are you enjoying ___ Being here? He nods. Do you think she's cute? Shadow paused mid nod and shot a glance at them “Don't try that with me" Hotaru bit their lip and wiggled their eyebrows. Shadow face flushed red, with anger? No.
“Don't." Hotaru stuck their tongue out and ran off into the kitchen. Shadow rolled his eyes.
“Well, I hate to cut the night short, but we've got to go.” Sapphire said. Hotaru ran over to hug you. They smiled at you before running over to say goodbye to Shadow. She wiggled their eyebrows at him again.
You seem to make them smile a lot.
“I know" Hotaru shook her head. That's not what they meant and Shadow knew it. Shadow nudged her “Get going.” She sprinted back to Sapphire.
Everyone finished saying their goodbyes as the two made their way out. Time for bed.
You sat on the sofa and waited for Shadow to come over. It had become routine, Shadow would come sit and talk with you until you passed out. He made a beeline for the kitchen. After a few minutes, he came back with two mugs of hot chocolate.
“I recall you telling me that you loved hot chocolate growing up.” He said as he handed you one of the mugs and took a seat. You nodded, surprised that he remembered. You took the mug and sipped on the drink. It wasn't too hot, but it was rich and creamy. You signed thanks and he nodded “You like living here?” You nodded, sitting your mug on the coffee table. You all have been very nice to me, I am extremely thankful.
“We are all happy you decided to stay.” There was a pause before you began signing again. I want this job at Dana's. Shadow nodded
"I know.” His gaze floated over to your belongings on the side table. I know.

You lashed out, grabbing at whatever you could reach. Someone was calling your name. "__, wake up!” You slammed back into reality, gasping for air. Shadow was in front of you. "You're alright. Breathe.” You felt water hit your arms. When you looked down, you realised they were your own tears. You began to panic again, you didn't want to cry, not alone and especially not in front of others. You went to bring your hands to your face. Gloved fingers wrapped around your wrists and pulled them away from your face. You looked up at the hedgehog in front of you. He appeared calm, but in his eyes you could see emotion, you could see concern. "I get those too.” Shadow said softly. You looked at him, he was focusing on your hands, turning them back and forth in his. "The nightmares.” He continued. “I have them a lot. But, I don't let em bother me" You blinked and sniffled, your heart rate was getting back to normal. Taking your hands slowly away from his, you signed. How long? "A long time.” He let out a growl “How about you?” You lifted your shaky hands. Since my mom died. "I'm.. sorry about your mom.” He muttered, You felt like you were gonna cry again. You squeezed your eyes shut and looked down at your lap. "I don't care if you cry, you know" You heard him say. Shadow turned and leaned back into the couch, you looked up at him. You turned yourself as well and sat beside him. "Do you want to try to sleep again?” He asked gruffly. You sniffed and shook your head no. "Did you uhh...wanna talk about it?” You thought a minute and lifted your hands. I don't know. I've never talked to anyone about it before. "I get that, just, talk when your ready.” He said. You thanked him and leaned back into the cushions. "Want to know something?" You nod. "I used to a GUN agent, working for them was okay, but I don't take well on orders, so-"

That night after dinner, you listened to everyone chatting and laughing. After nearly everyone went to bed you and Tails sat on the sofa and talked for a bit. You were getting a little more comfortable here. Everyone were very nice and accepting. They didn't make it a huge deal that you didn't have a home, and you liked that. Can I ask you a question? You were getting better at signing, Tails gave you the go ahead. Was it difficult for you all when you came to earth?
"Well, it definitely wasn't easy. Humans weren't very accepting of Mobians...many still aren't, but it's gotten a lot better." Where do you work? "That's kind of complicated. Me and my friends we are sort of the...bodyguards of earth. We get paid to save people and the planet a lot, though not much happens anymore" So your a superhero? Tails beams. Because you saved me. Tails pauses and laughs awkwardly . "It's fine, really" You see a faint blush on his muzzle. You tried to hide a yawn, but it slipped past. Tails chuckled and stood up. “Guess that's my cue. Sleep tight __, don't let the bed bugs bite.” You smiled and shook your head, signing goodnight to him. He flipped the light off as he made his way to his room. Lying on your back, you pulled the blanket up around your shoulders and recalled the days events. You couldn't remember ever smiling this much. You hoped this new found happiness would follow you into sleep. This wasn't the case.

It was only then you notice Sonic still sitting.
"I have some more questions, if your okay with that?" You nod and he shuffles closer to you. "Were you always...quiet?” He wanted to say mute, but didn't want to sound rude. You shook your head. "Your family...did they hurt you?” Too personal, way too personal. You turned away from him. "Shoot, sorry.” He muttered. You breathed heavy for a moment, then lifted your hands to sign. Why do you care? He looked puzzled. “__, I told you earlier, nobody should have to live out there.” Scratching under his nose, leaning back and he looked at you “Everyone likes you, and I know they wouldn't trust someone unless they're good.” He was shifting his thoughts onto his friends. It still didn't explain why HE cared. You pull your legs up and rest your head on your knees. Sonic continued, “I know that there is some... distrust between us. But I only want to help.” He tapped you on your arm to get your attention. You look over at him. He winked “And that's no lie.” You couldn't help but smile. "Well, I'm going to let you get some rest. Tomorrow's gonna be a big day.” What do you mean? "you'll see.” He waved it off and started down the hall “G'night.” Laying down on the couch, you wrapped the blanket around your body. You stared up at the ceiling for a long time, taking in your current situation. It would be so easy to just grab your things and slip out. You would be long gone by morning, they wouldn't even know where to look. Nobody would ever know. Instead, you rolled onto your side and buried your face into the sofa cushion, letting sleep take over.

He was doing the right thing, right? Silver walked towards the kitchen looking out into the living area where you slept. You seemed very nervous about anyone knowing about your predicament. He looked over at the things he had grabbed from the alley. Taking the blanket in his hands, he quietly unraveled the bundle and decided to check out what items you were keeping. There were a few cans of food, most of them expired. A few articles of clothing, some of them looking a little worn, he made a mental note to take you clothes shopping. He set these things aside and found a small box. Glancing over at the couch to make sure you were still asleep, he picked it up gingerly and turned it around in his hands. He didn't like snooping, but this box was well taken care of, this was something you obviously cared for. He sighed and looked over at you again, just to make sure, then decided to open it up.At the bottom lay what looked like a necklace. Silver took one finger and lifted the delicate chain up and out of the box. At the end dangled a heart-shaped charm with a bright red essence swirling around it. It was mesmerising, and he eventually had to force his gaze away from it, laying it back in the box and closing the lid. Setting it back on the table, he stared at all of the items scattered on the blanket. Was this really everything you had? He jumped slightly at the sound of you stirring. Walking over to the couch, he saw you had absentmindedly curl up onto your side. He grabbed a nearby blanket and covered you up.

You pretended to know where you were going as you both walked into town not saying anything. Silver looked at you , a serious expression back on his face.
“Where do you live?” He asked. You weren't sure how to answer. You stared at the ground for what seemed like forever. Silver sighed. “What aren't you telling me?” Your eyes met his again. Silver knew something was up, he wasn't stupid. Giving in, you made a motion for him to follow you. Once you arrive, you turn down the alley where you had been attacked.
“This....explains a lot.” Silver spoke slowly. You could tell he was being cautious with his words.
“When I first saw Knuckles bring you in at Sapphs house, I could tell you were very underweight. That explains this morning at breakfast. You wanted to eat everything, but didn't want to make a scene.” He spoke softly now. You really wanted to disappear. Tell him to forget he ever saw you, run off and find another place to live. Silver sensed this, his hand gripping your shoulder.
“How long have you been out here?” He asked. "out on the streets, anyway.” A year. He stared at your belongings on the ground again, then knelt down and gathered them all up in the blanket, tying it all together. He tossed it over his shoulder and extended his hand out to you.
“Come on. You shouldn't be living out here.” He said. You looked at his hand, then his face, and back to his hand. He tilted his head ever so slightly, giving you a perplexed look.
“This is no place for a human...No place for anyone, actually.” He said. You couldn't look him in the eye. He held out his hand again. “I'm not leaving you out here. You might as well come with me willingly.” You knew he was serious. You took his hand and heard him sigh in relief.
“I know your scared.” He said to you, looking straight into your eyes. “But you will be much happier once you get back on your feet and don't have to do this anymore.” Tears threatened to spill.
“Hold on tight and keep your eyes shut” Was all you heard before he picked you up and whisked you away.

Silver couldn't get a good read on you. He knew something was amiss, but he couldn't quite put his finger on what it was, and he knew you wouldn't tell him if he asked. He had watched you while you were eating you food, you looked so happy and so desperate to eat everything but you must have been holding back, why? He had watched as Hatoru taught you ASL. You seemed fine right then, but Silver noticed little things that the others seemed to overlook. These strange looks came over you at times and you would look confused or depressed in some moments. He wanted to find out why, and maybe, just maybe, be the reason you did smile.
“Hey Silver! Come help with the dishes!" Sonic stuck his head out the back door. Silver sighed and smiled as he followed him inside.

You couldn't sleep. At one point you could feel someone in the room. Footsteps approached the bed.
“I know you're awake.”
You forced yourself to look at the figure beside the bed.
It was a fox, male, yellow. "H-hey, did mean to freak you out!" He said surprised. " I was bored so I came see who everyone was fussing about" You blink. "I don't mean to be rude, but do you talk?” He had a kind smile on his face. You shook your head. For the past year, no one talked to you, so why bother?
“Well, I'm Miles Prower, but you can call me Tails." You nod and make a mental note of his name. You both stare off into the distence fir a while before Tails nudged your foot.
“I asked a friend if he had any sodium Hypobromite" You raise an eyebrow. "He said NaBrO" You giggled a little. "I came up with that one myself!” You kept laughing quietly, not wanting to be loud. He hopped off the bed and turned to face you again, his face looking a little more serious.
“So, Knuckles told me that they found you in an alley.” You nodded. "How come you were in an alley?” You looked away from him, spying a notepad and pen on the nightstand. You grabbed them and wrote. I was out for a walk. He studied your face a moment. “Were you on your way home?” You nodded. "Well, I'm sure Sapph will let you go home soon" He smiled again “she might also want you to stay a little longer. She loves to help people, and I'm sure she'll want to make sure you're safe.” Your heart sank slightly. You didn't want to be a burden on them. Tails seemed to notice the shift in your mood, and he laid a hand on your leg, “you'll be home before you know it.” You wrote “Thanks” down on the paper.
“Not a problem.” He said. He walked to the door and opened it, looking back at you before stepping out into the hallway. “Don't forget to ring the bell if want someone to talk to” He waved and left. The smile wouldn't leave your face but you knew you shouldn't get too attached. Hopefully tomorrow Sapphire would let you go. You didn't want them figuring out that you were homeless.

His POV: Eggman! He's got ___! From all the times...why coud he just kidnap Amy instead! Or Sapphire? (hey!) If you lay one finger on ___ I swear you will pay eggbutt! ( ....wow...just wow...)

His Pov
Scrouge some how found his way to my world and I was so angry! I chased him down to earth and found Sonic and Shadow there too! I then found out about this girl and decied to help Sonic but Scourge has to come to...I have my eye on you Scourge! I hope ___ is nice! I'm kind of exicted to meet her! (lol!) what? (oh nothing...*starts to laugh*) 0_0'

he he he....sorry about this....the hedgehog that likes you as not met you yet so you have to guess who it is, here is a clue....his name begins with s! I know this does not help much but who u gonna blame?....o...right...me....*gulps*

This girl, she's something else. I know I've been rejected so many times by other girls just because of my age, but I just know __ is different! I have to protect her.

You walked over to Sonic and put your hand on his shoulder. "Sonic..." He looked at you like a lost puppy. "Believe me when I say I am not an Eggman robot. I would never hurt you," You said with pleating eyes. He looked at you carefully a black glow encased his fur but you could still see your hero in shining armor. You held his hand with a smile as he turned back to normal. "___," Sonic said as if hearing your name for the first time. He pulled you in for a hug and held you close to him. "I love you." "I love you to Sonic," You replied. He smiled and kissed you. A soft passionate kiss that came from his heart. Of course you kissed back as his fur turned back to blue. You broke the kiss and smiled. "I'll always love you, ___." You smiled holding onto him as the other two turned back to normal and smiled at you two.
~a few months later~
You were at prom. Everyone was so happy. Silver was dancing with Allie while Alexis and Shadow were over by the punch. You smiled holding your boyfriend's hand. "Its time to announce prom king and queen!" Hailey said from the microphone. Everyone gathered. "And the prom king and queen are... ___ and Sonic!" You gasped excited as they placed a crown on yours and Sonic's head. He smiled as they gave you the spotlight dance. "You look so beautiful, my queen," Sonic said as he kissed you. You kissed back and the two of you lived happily ever after. Or do you? ;)

You held onto Shaden as he put you down in a forest. Alexis caught up to you guys and glared Shaden. "I'll murder that jerk," She growled. "Sonic?" You asked. She nodded. "Alexis getting revenge when they're dark isn't the best idea," Shaden said. She nodded growling. "I wish it was." You looked at her and she growled at you. "You-" You cut Alexis off. "I don't know how Eggman did it but he controlled me. I'm not one of his stupid machines, please Alexis believe me," You pleated. Shaden looked at her and she sighed. "Fine, but if you hurt-" "I won't hurt Shadow," You teased. She blushed red. "I don't know what you mean," She said looking at the sky. You and Shaden found this amusing and laughed. Alexis punched Shaden and smirked. "We need to take Sonic down," she said looking at you seriously eating a pack of gummy bears. You tried to grab some but she hissed at you. Shaden was thinking for a moment and looked at Alexis," We need some help from your friends sis."

Sonic: Traitor...lier... Eggman said he created her. How could I have trusted her?! Alexis: Sonic, Eggman- Sonic: SHUT UP! *turns dark and shoves her out of pain and rage*. She broke me... I'll never love again.

I should never have trusted, ___ thats for sure.

Your eyes began to glow black. Tails looked at you. "___, Your a strong girl. Please don't listen to him I know you can break free of this!" You glared him growling. "Tails she can't hear you!" Sorret said looking at you. You smirked and trapped Tails in a firey ember. "I'm sorry Miles," Eggman laughed in an evil tone. "She doesn't remember you any more."
