Okay. Let me explain something here.
If you are gay, or whatever, you've always been gay. You just didn't realize it when you were younger. And you will always be gay. You can't 'shock the gay away'
It's utter bullshit.
You can never become 'not gay' if you are gay.
And no one will be taken away from anyone.

Okay. A little Homestuck thing here
Equius didn't smile because Gamzee was killing him. He had a scared and panicked look on his face when Gamzee wrapped the bow string around his neck.
He smiled because he saw Nepeta in the vents. He wanted to let Nepeta know everything would be okay. So thats why he smiled as Gamzee killed him, in my own head.
And Nepeta might not've died if she stayed in the vents. Sure, Gamzee might stay in the vents later on, but it would've given Nepeta See More the chance to find the others, so that she would stand a chance.
But she wanted revenge. She wanted to kill Gamzee to keep the others safe and to avenge Equius.
