Anyway, you are the pack leader if you die your mate will be in charge. if you and your mate die beta will take the pack and be the new alpha unless you have said otherwise. Although it is rare, this position can be challenged. If the rival wins he/she can do whatever they please with the previous leader. Why wolves don't usually challenge this rank is because it would cause a huge change within the pack.
