Chouji is a very kind, polite and caring person, he even has the patience to deal with his bossy teammate Ino. Chouji despite all his good traits lacks self-confidence after being bullied as a child but his best friend, Shikamaru, considers him to be the strongest on their team. Chouji is humble about this insisting that his teammates are better than he is and the only reason he can fight is because of them. He can be easily motivated by the prospect of food and becomes highly agitated if he's called fatty or any mention of his weight is made as he prefers to call himself chubby or big-boned. Knowing him, he can probably cook really well so you may not have to get take-out very often though he thinks of that as more of a treat than anything he could create.
