The main character is Light Yagami and he finds a notebook with special powers; it kills the person whosever name is writen in it. The note is called a Death Note and it is from another relm, the *Shinigami relm. A shinigami also comes with the note and only people who touch the death note can see them. He decides to kill off all the criminals in the world and See More become the god of the "New World". There is a anomyus detective called L who starts tracking him down and joins Light in "finding ^Kira".
