Your feet rest on a pillow as you adjust your awkward, upside-down position on your bed to be more comfortable. The room is dark, pitch-black except for the faint outline of a silver window. You can see the soft curtains rippling as they are stroked by the breeze wafting through the open glass. A cricket chirps, the soft murmur of a plane passing overhead is drowned out by a distant siren. A fresh gust of wind weaves through a dry tree, creating a noisy spiral of rustles.
