Scorpiotaurs are created using extremely dark magic. A newly laid chimera egg is laid to nest on a bed of dead scorpions and bathed in dragon's blood at the crescent moon. Only one out of ten eggs hatches to become a Scorpiotaur; the other nine hatch as dead chimeras, leaving many mothers to grieve. It's a cruel and barbaric process, but it just goes to show how far Emperor Xagorath was willing to go to kill his prey, the Weredragons Ashley and Caleb. In the end, he was slaughtered, See More not by the assassins, but by his own people during an uprising. He was tried and killed for treason.
