Women and girls in the past (e.g. American War for Independence) fainted often -- not because they were stereotypically weak, but because the corsets that they wore would leave them short of breath and make blackouts happen frequently. If a girl was raised wearing a corset all of the time, she wouldn't even be able to move without one later in life. Some even died because of things like this.
Corsets suck.
