I don't mean to be political but
Wouldn't it be against the first amendment to pass laws based off of religious beliefs? I mean, a lot of my relatives/neighbors/church acquaintances say that "we need to get Christ back in DC" and stuff like that and they say gay marriage should be illegal bc of the Bible and they say abortion should be illegal bc of this one verse and all kinds of stuff like that but. If you're passing a law only because of your religious beliefs, then it is forcing See More your religion on others, and therefore violating the first amendment. Right?

Is it wrong that I resent my grandmother for reacting to me coming out by crying and saying I can't really know and she'll pray god fixes me? Should I be more empathetic? I mean, she thinks I'm going to hell. That must hurt her. Should I feel more understanding of where she's coming from or is it okay to just be hurt and angry..?
Try to understand. It's hard, to believe in something, and then suddenly, someone you love fits that belief. It's terrifying. Try and be understanding. But you don't have to be completely happy with her.

Am I the only person really bothered and hurt by the whole "I think that you're sinning for being queer, but I don't judge you and I'll still love you" thing that a lot of people say? I mean, don't get me wrong, it's waaaaayyy better than getting beat up or screamed at, but.. I dunno. It's condescending and it still hurts. Because, I mean, maybe you aren't "judging" me, but at the same time you are. You're saying that you think my attraction to girls is comparable to murder, or See More abuse, or any other horrible sin. By definition of you believing it's a sin, you cannot accept it in any way, shape, or form. You can't be happy for me if I get a girlfriend. You can't really be excited with me when my crush texts me back. You can't help me when my grandmother tells me I'm going to hell, or when my pastor warns me that with this sin I'm cursing any future children I may have to horrible lives, or when my parents scare the shit out of me by expressing support for a parent's right to sending their queer child to reparative therapy, or when my church friends refuse to see Beauty and the Beast because an actor mentioned a "gay moment," or when my aunt hisses at me to shut up and covers her kids' ears when I say the word "gay" because, to some extent, you agree with all of those people.
Even if you do still love me, you will always have to love me despite of who I am, and not because of who I am. And that hurts.
