There's no much thing as magic

Clara spent the afternoon sitting on her bed, snacking on extra buttery popcorn, and binge watching Gilmore girls, she was on season 4. Clara wrapped her white flowered sheets around her and grabbed another handful of popcorn.

She could barely sleep that night all she could think about was tomorrow. She would wear black, try not to talk to anyone, and try to hold back her tears. Jaycee had lots of other friends who would probably be there acting like they were so special to Jaycee. Clara had always been Jaycees best friend and in the future she could have been more. Clara shut her eyes and tried to think about something besides the funeral. She tried to think about getting a puppy and playing dolls with her mom when she was younger but her thoughts kept drifting back to Jaycee.

Clara eyes opened quickly and she shot out of bed panting. The sun was shining in her face blinding her she didn't remember going to bed. She had dreamed about the kiss she and Jaycee shared before she died but then she slowly turned into a monster and killed Jaycee.

"It was just a dream. It was just a dream", Clara reapeted to herself.

She whipped the sweat of her forehead and grabbed her phone from her night stand. She had a sparkly good case on it with her name on it in a cursive, black font. She had one new text from her brother. Her older brother Ben had gone of to college this year he and Clara were never close. She clicked on iMessage and read the text it simply said "hi how r u". She frowned and deleted the conversation, she would deal with bens "sympathy" later.

The door to Clara's room slowly opened. Clara's dad walked through the door. He was in plaid boxers and a worn out red soxs tee shirt. Her dad had a bad habit of not knocking.

"Oh hey dad", Clara said.

"Hi Clair. I know your really not up for going out but you really need to go to this. You should start getting ready."

"Okay"

Clara waved goodbye to her dad and as soon as he shut the door she burst into tears. She buried her face in her unicorn stuffed animal. When she was little she named it Lola the magic unicorn. She used to believe it could actually do magic she really needed that right now.

"Lola bring Jaycee back to life", she said.

Nothing happened, of course she was just being stupid. Clara half expected  Jaycee to walk into the room and tell her it worked. Clara threw Lola across the room knocking over the trash can. Crumpled up papers and food wrappers spilled all the floor. The floor probably felt just like she did.
