Ok, here it is! I decided to write a story about Sonata and Cana. I really wanted to do a different ending for the story, but I loved the old one...so...Yep...

A New Beginning

--They were six years old--

Autumn leaves crunched under their feet as they ran around in the yard. Oh, it felt amazing to finally be themselves again. The two children collapsed onto the ground, panting and giggling happily. "Sonata, it sure is fun spending time with you." The blue eyed boy smiled. The young, Brown haired girl continued. "We need to hang out more often. Promise you'll come over again tomorrow?" She offered her friend her hand.  Sonata brushed some of his wispy blonde bangs out of his eyes, and a pale pink blush dusted his cheeks. He took Cana's hand and they walked away. "I promise."

--They were 17 years old--
Sonata pushed his way through the crowds, searching for his childhood friend. He felt a gentle tap on his shoulder and quickly spun around. Standing before him was  a beautiful woman. Her hair flowed perfectly and she was draped from head to toe in white, shimmering gown. A golden tiara with a blue gem perched atop her head, and she carried a golden staff, embedded with diamonds and sapphires. "Cana? Is that you?" The woman said nothing, but she pulled Sonata into a long embrace. "Sonata, you came!"

"Cana?" Sonata beamed. "I-I can't believe it! You're so........" Sonata couldn't speak. "P-Pretty!" Cana blushed. "Sonata, I have something important to tell you. I-" She stopped short and hugged Sonata tightly. "I am being crowned as the ruler of Valeria. That's not all. Have you ever heard of the ancient tale of the Princess, the Knight, and the Shadows?" The blonde shook his head. "It is unknown if the legend is true. Many years ago, two young sisters were playing in their yard. They decided to venture into the forest. There, the older sister met a young boy. In fact...he kind of looked just like you. Anyways, they became great friends. Many years passed, and their friendship stayed strong. What the princess didn't realize was that every legend has an end. One fateful day, the boy lost his battle with a shadowy figure. It turned out that the figure was actually his past bad actions! Crazy, right?!" And his last words were "Cana, you..."

Cana stopped.
Her eyes widened.
"Wait..."
