Tormented Life

Lukas's reasons

"Give me your schedule," Dan orders. I begin to search through my pocket. I feel some coins a tissue and my schedule. I snatch it out and hand it to Dan, I watch his face light up brighter than the stars.
"What?" I demand.
"We're in the next class together!" he explains. We both look at each other with big smiles.
"Are Autumn and Shannon with us?" I question excitedly. He shakes his head. "Oh," I say starting to feel disappointed.
"Lukas is though," He points out, "Maybe we can find out why he has to leave," Dan suggests. I nod.
We walk into class to find we are early, the only other person in the class is Lukas. He just stares at the floor. He looks like his best friend just died. Both Dan and I don't bother asking because we both know why.
"Oh, hi guys," he mumbles. I walk over to him and put my hand on his shoulder.
"Lukas, I know that we have never actually talked before but Autumn is my friend and a friend of hers is a friend of mine," I say. He looks up at me, now I get a proper look at his sad, blue eyes, like the ocean trying to fight of a storm.
"Fay?" He questions.
"Yeah?" I respond.
"You don't remember me?" He asks. Then as I look at his blue eyes again, I see it. I see me as a little kid, playing with my best friend, a boy with dark blonde hair and soft blue eyes, Lukas.
"Oh my god! Is it really you?!" I gush. He nods.
"Sorry to interrupt but I'm a bit lost," Dan says.
"We were best friends as little kids until Fay's dad died and her mum never let her make contact with the outside world," Lukas explains. Dan smiles happily.
"Awesome!" He says.
"I thought I'd never see you again Fay!" He tells me, "To be honest I had a tiny crush on you but as soon as I met Autumn I fell head over heels for her," He says. "And now mum says unless I buy my own house we are moving to the other side of the world because she got some stupid job there!" He yells. I look back at Dan. He looks gobsmacked. I watch him walk slowly over to Lukas and I.
"Lukas, you could stay at the orphanage with me," Dan suggests. Lukas smiles.
"Hey, great idea!" He says.
Soon the class begins and finishes.
