Sofia Witner danced to the beat of a hit pop song, belting out the lyrics like a real pop star. The song was really sappy and cliche, but she didn't have much to do. Suddenly, her computer binged with an email. Sofia trotted over to her computer and checked her inbox.
"What's up?" It was subjected, and Amelia, her best friend, had sent it. She clicked it twice, intrigued.
"Wanna buy the most comfortable lounge chair in possibly THE WORLD?" The computer read. "Spam," sighed Sofia, but, as she was going to turn her laptop off, a website popped up. "Wanna sign up for The Mystery Website?" It read, with a big red SIGN UP box. Below was a box titled QUESTIONS?
Sofia clicked that button, and a list of questions popped up. A few of them were, WHAT IS THIS WEBSITE? WHEN DID I LAST CHECK MY LAUNDRY? WHY DID MY DOG POOP ON MY BED?
Sofia didn't know why the last two were necessary, so she clicked the big blue type that said, WHAT IS THIS WEBSITE?
Sofia watched as the screen changed to a white background that said in the very heart of it, YOU'LL FIND OUT.
This is even more interesting than an email, thought Sofia. She clicked the back button on her browser and clicked the SIGN UP box.
USERNAME? It asked with a box below. I'VEGOTWIT typed Sofia. PASSWORD asked the computer. Sofia felt uneasy as she typed secrets4.
Sofia smiled as her account processed. Soon she got to her profile. First Sofia clicked Profile Pic. She posted a picture of her dog, Coffee Mug. ABOUT ME, it read below her profile picture. She typed in, I am 14 years old and I go to Rose Day. My favorite color is anything pastel or neon yellow. I honestly don't know!
She paused as she continued to type the text. I am single, she wrote, just in case this was some type of dating website. The last dating website she entered, when she finally met the guy, he had rude table manners and picked his nose, but she always hoped she'd find a better one.
SECRETS, read the one below. Sofia bit her lip and chewed. Maybe this website wasn't as anonymous as it seemed.
My mom robbed a bank, she wrote. And.. I had a crush on Silus Bittner last year. Than my best friend Amelia told me Sofia Bittner was a good name, and I told him. Turns out he didn't like me.
I pressed the link titled HOME. Big type titled one half of the page ONCE YOUR IN, YOU CAN'T COME OUT. Sofia gasped and tried to exit out. She couldn't. She closed the laptop and breathed shakily into her pillow.
