The Beginning of the Truth

POV- Cameron

The beginning starts on a day that seems like any other day. I thought it was just another day that I missed the bus. I thought it was just another rainy day. No. Today was the day that starts my epic journey.

My mom was making me go to school on the last week of it, even though there was no need to go. I didn't have to go. I didn't even want to go.

I sighed, from my luck. My house is in a neighborhood on the top of a hill. Then, I got a weird feeling in my gut. I started to run, so I could get home faster; I didn't want to puke on the side of the road. I felt water rush past my legs- heading up the hill!Stopping to look behind me, I saw that it was true. I ran faster. To my dismay, the water rushed faster. I ran to my house and jumped over the curb. The water even followed me there!

"Why won't it stop?!" I asked myself while unlocking the door. Then, as the door opened, the water left me, along with the feeling in my gut. I rushed inside to find my brother staring at me, with his large, green eyes.

"You okay?" Mathew asked. He, being a year older than me, would know what to do if there was a bully or if I was having trouble in school. But could he help me with this? I couldn't even believe myself! How was he supposed to believe me then?

"Uh... n-nothing!" I stuttered back.

"No, somethings wrong. What is it?" He asked, as a good big brother would do.

"You w-wouldn't believe me if I t-told you!" I answered him.

"Please. Tell me. I can help. I've helped before! What's wrong?" He obviously cares. I decided to tell him. Best figure it out with someone, rather than by yourself. And, besides, if it turns out I'm crazy, he and Mom would help. They're the best family in the whole world.

"I can't even believe myself. Honestly, who WOULD believe me? Oh, well, here goes..." I paused a moment because I saw a weird look in his eyes. What was it? Concern? Surprise? "Um... Uh..." I was getting nervous. How ARE people going to believe me? I suddenly got  many feelings and thoughts racing through my mind. I thought my head was going to explode. "Mathew... there is something wrong with me."

"Uh... what?" Mathew asked. Was he confused? Or was it anticipation? Now I was confused!

"Either water followed me up the hill or I'm going crazy! Both ways there is something wrong with me!" Then he got an unusual look on his face.

"So, you're saying that you can either control water or you're seeing things?" I nodded. "There's nothing wrong with you." He said that, obviously wanting to annoy me and to confuse me WAY more.

"Huh? But... but... How can you say so? You weren't there! And off the top of your head?" My heart began to pound in my chest.

"I know because I can control water. Don't know why we can, but... we can," he said. I was surprised. Shocked. Confused. Again, many feelings and thoughts came pouring in my mind.

"What's going on?" I asked him in a small, scared voice.

"I don't know."

"How did you find out?"

"Water park last summer," he said. The water park closed when we were there, due to electrical issues. I think Mathew had to do with that.

"Oh..." I replied, not so scared anymore. He told me everything he knew about it- which wasn't much. Just when it started, what he'd done with his powers. I went to bed, but couldn't sleep that night. I always knew we were different. Even though Mathew was dyslexic and I had ADHD, I knew there was something else. Now I know what it is.
