Calypso

Calypso

Calypso is a Greek Myth -- the daughter of Atlas, a Titan defeated in the war between Kronos and the gods. When he was defeated, Calypso was cursed to spend the rest of eternity on an island. Every once in a while, a hero will wash onto the shores. It's always someone that has to leave, someone who still has battles to be fought. No one ever finds the island twice, and no one can leave unless she falls in love with them. It's an unending cycle of torture for Calypso. Read her tale... Maybe she'll even find love! (This is based off of Rick Riordan's 'Percy Jackson and the Olympians' and 'Heroes of Olympus,' although I took the liberty of changing it up a bit.)

Leo - Part 1

Leo - Part 1 I sit in my cave, cursing Zeus and every other god that I know of as I weave a new dress.
An explosion rattles over the Island. I peek outside to see a huge machine crashed where my dining table used to be. A boy with curly black hair and dark eyes runs around the wreckage.
I curse Zeus again. It hasn't been that long. He sends me a new boy already? The gods are even more cruel that I thought.
I run outside. "What are you DOING? You blew up my dining table!"
"Oh, I'm sorry," he says sarcastically. "I just fell out of the sky. I constructed a helicopter in midair, burst into flames half-way down, crash-landed, and barely survived. But by all means--let's talk about your dining table!"
He grabbed a half-melted goblet. "Who puts a dining table on the beach where innocent demigods can crash into it? Who DOES that?"
I clench my fists and try to keep my temper down. It's not his fault that I'm trapped here and that Jake's dead, which is what I'm really mad about.
I shake a fist at the sky. "REALLY?" I screech. "You want to make my curse even WORSE? Zeus! Hephaestus! Hermes! Have you no shame?"
"Uh," The boy started. "I doubt they're listening. You know, the whole split personality thing..."
I ignore him. I am not interested in anything he has to say right now.
"Show yourself! It's not bad enough that I'm exiled? It's not enough that you take away the few good heroes I happen to meet? You think it's funny to send me this--this charbroiled runt of a boy to ruin my tranquility? This is NOT FUNNY! Take him back!"
I take a deep ragged breath.
"Hey, sunshine, I'm right here, you know."
I snarl at him. "Do NOT call me sunshine! Get out of that hole and come with me NOW so I can get you off my island!"
"Well, since you asked so nicely..."
He crawls out of the hole anyways and starts following me down the beach. Speaking of which...
"This was a pristine beach! Look at it now."
I'm simply yelling about everything. I've gone mad.
"Yeah, my bad. I should've crashed on one of the other islands. Oh, wait--there aren't any!"
I clench my fists tighter and continue walking down the shore.
I finally stop at the place the boat normally appears. The stupid oaf isn't watching where he's going, and he slams right into me.
"Gah!" I shout in frustration and shove him off. "All right. This spot is good. Now tell me you want to leave."
"What?"
Are all normal boys this frustrating? "Do you want to leave? Surely you've got somewhere to go!"
"Uh... Yeah. My friends are in trouble. I need to get back to my ship and..."
"Fine," I snap. "Just say 'I want to leave Ogygia.'"
"Uh, OK," He mutters. "I want to leave... Whatever you said."
"Oh-gee-gee-ah." I pronounce it slowly -- probably more slowly than necessary, but I'm mad.
"I want to leave oh-gee-gee-ah," he repeated.
I exhaled in relief. The sooner he was gone, the better. I needed time to cry. To attempt to heal my broken heart again. "Good. In a moment, a magical raft will appear. It will take you wherever you want to go."
"Who are you?"
I open my mouth to answer, then stop myself. When they know who I am, bad things happen. "It doesn't matter. You'll be gone soon. You're obviously a mistake."
I stare out at the water. My life is a nightmare. If only a raft were to someday come for me...
I shake my head. I need to stop fantasizing. This is reality.
"Any moment now..." I mutter.
"Maybe it got stuck in traffic," the boy suggests.
I want to ask what 'traffic' is, but I'm too angry to.
"This is wrong. This is completely wrong!" No more wrong than anything else, but still. I glared at the sky.
"So... Plan B? You got a phone, or..."
I ignore him and run off. I only understand half of what he's saying at this point anyway.

Thanks for the offer! If I ever do need help, I'll definitely ask. And yeah. At least, I think. Some people say I am. Sometimes I love my writing, other times I think that it is the worst rubbish ever written. And I will! :)

Your welcome, if you need help I'd be happy to help :) well, I never actually read what got you inspired but I do think I could help if needed

are you a good story-writer on your own? I'm pretty bad on my own cause I can only imagine a basis, and after a few minutes of writing I get bored of it...

but still, success with continuing the story ^-^
