A Beautiful Struggle- Jade's Point Of View
Love is a beautiful struggle. That's what my parents used to tell me when I saw them arguing. Maybe that was an excuse for all of that. Maybe that was saying that still loved each other no matter what. I always thought about that when my sister came crying to me about this jerk she was going out with."What's wrong?"
"Dylan broke up with me." she sobs. I shook my head. Dylan was her so called "boyfriend'. He has dirty blonde hair, blue eyes, and olive skin. He's the star player on the basketball team. He's super cocky and is the ultimate pretty boy. He spends more time in the bathroom fixing his hair than she does!
"Dylan is a douchebag, Sarah." I tell her. "You deserve better, he's not good enough." I say angrily.
"Why does this hurt so bad?" she asks me. I could tell she was broken just like me. She didn't know the feeling but I recognized it. That's how I felt when parents died.
"I don't know, but I do know is that you shouldn't get back with him." I sigh.
She exhales deeply and tries breath easily. She frowns. She puts her hand on her chest and gasps for air. "I can't breathe without him."
"Yes you can." she shakes her head at me. "Come on, your being over dramatic! He's a sorry excuse for a boyfriend. Just leave the brat already!" I nag.
"Send him, send Dylan over." she says in a serious tone. Our eyes meet up with each other. I grunt.
"He's not good for you."
"Just, please." she begs.
"Okay fine." I pull my bang out of my face and reach for her phone. "What's your passcode?"
"4567."
"You're so predictable." I chuckle. That's such a dumb passcode, anyone could guess that. I put the phone up to my ear and listen to it ring. She face-palms herself in humiliation.
"Hello?" he says.
"Yes, this is your 'ex' girlfriend's sister."
"Oh, the ugly tomboy. What do you want?" I wish he wouldn't. He always tries to act like he doesn't have any interest in me. But he did before.
"I don't want you," I say in disgust. He laughs. "She does."
"Okay I'll be right over." I rolled my eyes. I ran to my bedroom quickly so I wouldn't have to see these two love birds. Ugh. I knew he was going to the same thing, over and over again. But I remembered what my parents told me, love is a beautiful struggle.
