Finally talking
Oh my sweet goodness, they would not stop starring. It was like i had done something horribly wrong. I know its not true but its like they were looking into my soul and could see everything. The thought scared me. I only counted four people. There was curly-haired guy, stripes, scary black hair, and the one behind me that i've seen before. Where was Niall? I guess Stripes could tell what i was thinking cause he told me that he had stayed up late and was still sleeping.
I took my place in a corner and watched the four of them working. Curly cooked, Scary helped, Stripes pretended to look busy, and the other one set the table. He set five places at the five chairs in the kitchen. I noticed how all of them were dressed already. I looked down and noted that i looked homeless with my torn apart clothes, unwashed hair, and acne full face. Ding dong, the doorbell rang. All of them debated on who should get the door and finally Stripes went to go get it. I could hear him talking, "Hey! I'm so glad you're here!" He walked back to the kitchen. Behind him there was a beautiful girl. She clung to Stripes's arm and immediately noticed me. "Lou, whose that?" Her voice gave no indignation that she was repulsed that i was there. So now i had one name figured out and four more to go. Lou shrugged and went back to pretending to be busy. She walked up to me and said, "Hi, Im Eleanor. What's your name?" She held out her hand. "I'm Toni." I said nervously. "Are you dating one of the boys? I'm dating Louis so if you are that would make us friends." She said this with a smile. I was taken aback at the dating part and quickly shook my head. Just then Niall spoke up from the doorway. "She's a special friend from the orphanage we played at last night." He quickly said. He wasn't upset but I knew he had been crying. His lip was redder than normal and his cheeks were a little plush. She looked at me again and said something like oh. She looked at all the boys and decided that what Niall said wasn't the whole truth.
"Toni, my apartment isn't to far if you want to come with me. I can get you some closes, we are about the same height so they should fit ok." She didn't wait for an answer. She grabbed my wrist and out the door we went. In the driveway there was a red jeep. Nothing special or expensive which was inviting. I jumped into the passenger side and she pulled out. Once onto the highway she started with the questions.
"So why are you really there? Do you know any of them? Why are you at the orphanage?" Those were her first three. "If i tell you, you can't say anything and please don't interrupt." She agreed.
I told her absolutely everything. I hadn't talked about this with anyone. Back at the orphanage we don't talk a lot about our past because we already have it hard. When i was down we had been sitting in her driveway for twenty minutes and she had missed three calls.
"Oh my goodness. Do they know?" She asked. i shook my head, tears still running down my cheeks. She had tears in her eyes too but she had stopped crying a while ago. We finally walked in. She helped me pick something out. She insisted on a summer dress until finally i pulled up my sleeves to show her. She didn't ask questions, probably because she thought what everyone else would think. She gave me a cute top and jean shorts promising that we would cover up the marks.
She did my hair and makeup as she talked about herself. She told me all about One Direction and how she found Louis. She was hoping that he would propose soon. We got back to the house over an hour later. We walked in the door laughing and for the first time in forever, my laugh was genuine.
